Looking at it straight on, LA wins for getting that contract off the books. Looking at what LA gave up to get PLD and then turning him into Darcy Kuemper... woof. Gotta hope he bounces back.

like this deal for the caps. Getting dubois never made sense for the kings, but it does makes sense for the caps.

Sheds cap and yes there is always the chance PLD rebounds in WSH but freeing cap space and getting a goalie whose been good in the past is nice for LA

Caps can take a flyer on PLD since they'll be a bottom tier team for years to come

Kuemper is not worth his contract, it could turn out bad for LA too, but they limit their risk

Kinda a fair deal even if it's easy to say LA as an edge

With that said ...

It's been less than a full calendar year since the Dubois trade with Winnipeg.

And everybody in the Kings front office from Rob Blake to Marc Bergevin need to be put out to pasture.

Kings fans deserve better.

Is PLD toxic? Yes. Did Washington lose this trade? No way.

No matter your thoughts on PLD, he is a top 3 draft pick who has put up 60+ points three times. Put him with Ovi and see what happens. LA on the other hand traded: Vilardi, Iafallo, Kupari and a 2nd for essentially a backup goaltender with one good eye and a cup ring when he played in front of a powerhouse.

Easy Washington win for me.

Better move for LA than a PLD buyout. Brian MacLellan should have known better after getting rid of Kuz and Mantha.
