And then the Insults are in response to fantasy trades, which doesn't mean anything.

They'll never win the lottery however in the last 20 drafts a Canadian team has won the lottery 6 times statistically exactly where it should be that's nothing but crying that's unwarranted. 5 of seven 7 from 2010-2016 the league was rigging it against American teams. Way better argument there than the garbage you lay out.</div></div>
Perfect gaslight. You speak words to which you know not the meaning.
I never said anything about something being rigged. I alluded to the unfairness of the lottery, at best! I lose brain cells every time I read the ignorant nonsense here. What a waste of human space in this thread. So happy I dont spend too much time here speaking of irrelevant opinions. You are all trolls that think you are the majority but are outliers in society. Keep living eternally online without hope, losers especially the weirdo mods that proliferate mass trolling and cliques!

Hockey culture says differently. BUT again, no one knows. Anyone saying that the mix is fine in CBJ is delusional.
Ottawa/Buffalo/CBJ need major overhauls. And, this is what this site is supposed to do. Brainstorm ideas. If you are triggered by this as a CBJ, looks inwards and deal with it!
Losing culture/mentality is a thing in the ultimate team sport. There is no 'core' when you cant actually put a few good games in a row together and continually disappoint. The definition of insanity is repeating the same steps and expecting different results.

No one knows. Anyone saying differently with clarity is a blowhard. And, this is simply a reason to move Kent among many others. I don't know if you'd like to be demoted at your job and blamed but Kent clearly didn’t like being demoted.
CBJ needs to blow up their roster.
A new GM would want to put his imprint on this team as well whether it’s Davidson or someone else.

Think Bjorkstrand price of a 3rd and 4th.
Jets dont need 3 pieces but a few 2nds should be more than enough for a diving no show in the playoffs.

Lehkonen would have looked soo good on a line with Suzuki-Slafkovsky which coulda left Newhook-Dach-Caufield to round out the top-6... urghh sigh</div></div>
Always remember, people said Lehkonen was garbage and not worth a 1st. I tend to underrate 1sts maybe but I don't underrate as much folks here overrate 1sts. If 95% of the forum were GMs they'd trade every single player in the league for a late 1st, Johnny McNobody and some random Ahl guy that puts up a PPG but can't actually make a pass in the big leagues.
It would be a battle of who's salary cap looked the most clean/flexible in 5 years and Stanley Cups wouldn't even matter LOL

So where is your evidence that trading for a top5 pick wont cost something like Jack Quinn?
<em>Very hard to rationale about things that affect things that you love. We as humans tend to be decently good at analyzing the reality of problems of which we dont have a personal stake BUT once you get closer people can get increasily biased as their thoughts and words become excuses for your own self interests.</em>
I am Canucks fan, you, BOTH, a Sabres fan. This is black/white.
Then once you to take it that and breathe, we can have a discussion. As soon as you said MTL wins the lottery for Celebrini maybe trade for a piece like Jack Quinn, you lost the entire narrative in one feel swoop. Trading for a top5 pick is always expensive and almost impossible.

He had no business pinching at that moment. Benoit gets caught pinching, same with Brodie, Gio, McCabe at times. Liljegren every once and a while but it's just how they are coached. It's a system thing, pinch all the time keep the puck in the zone. It doesn't work in the playoffs Keefe. Schenn did well last year because he never pinched unless it was a for sure thing.</div></div>
The Leafs defence has been pretty good. Dont know what you've been watching. It is the Leafs special teams and goaltending that HAVE KILLED THEM with a lack of timely scoring from their top guys.
Boston has been vanilla and looked slow.
5on5 Toronto is crushing Boston right now while Edmundson has been fantastic. I swear most of the people that say Edmundson hasnt been good either arent watching the games or dont understand what they are watching! That pass to Nylander for the break away last night though 3 zones was a beauty!

Trade Matheson and he will probably turn into Dan Boyle for a contender. You don't trade those kind of players for magic beans.
Habs fans saw what those magic beans were worth from Colorado despite everyone saying it was too much for Lehkonen.
Most here, they would rather trade 95% of the league for 1st rounders when only the real difference makers are in the top5-10 of the draft and those picks dont get traded, ever!
Good NHL players should not be discarded especially with Matheson's skating and puck moving or Lehkonen's ferocious 200 ft game and timely scoring

Like most trades of known assets. You wont get fair value for Matheson. Just keep your good players when you aren't in cap trouble. Magic beans are overrated unless you are getting a top5 pick which never get dealt.
Use cap space and picks to add more good NHL'rs from desperate teams. Necas can be had for a very good prospect and pick.

He makes 4.8M, elite skater with 62 points. He's not Ghostbear.
He's always been incredibly talented but was played into the ground in Florida then was a monster in Pittsburgh by every metric.
I dont think the Habs should trade him for magic beans. I do realize 95% of everyone here would rather trade every decent player for a 1st round pick but that isnt a great strategy as Mtl found out with Arturi Lehkonen for a 1st and 2nd which many called too much at the 2022 TDL yet he's irreplaceable in Colorado, today!
Matheson is also irreplaceable in Montreal and I dont think Kent Hughes is going to give away another foundational piece just to make a trade for magic beans.
This a cap league and a top pair D at 4.8M with term and still young. You dont trade that kind of known asset. Hronek is going to get 7M AAV in Vancouver.
Matheson is an absolute steal right now at that AAV.
