Since no one mentioned him, @palhal is one of my favourite reads on here. Maybe the most reasonable leafs fans in existence. He, @OldNYIfan and @SammyT_51 are some of the reasons I stuck around this site. There are a ton of interesting people on this site and about 50% of them no what they are talking about (absurdly high number for the internets).

Even the people I argue with on here... which I enjoy... Have some great points and have changed my opinions.

I just can’t for the life of me understand why people want to do it. I thought the reason we all loved hockey was that all the nuances that are impossible to track made the sport different. It’s not baseball where a base hit is a base hit. It’s not basketball where a free throw either goes in or it doesn’t. It’s hockey, where no two puck battles are the same, and every situation is just a little bit different. The ultimate subjective enterprise.

You really worded that well. These stats have their use, but if you're only using them and base your whole hockey knowledge solely on them, you're a fool. Not to mention that most of the time people use them only when it's at their advantage

I agree, like to use both. If they do not pass the eye test the stats are useless though. They are useful when you know a player is carrying the play.
