What does pitt have to add to make it work
Disclaimer-The only way the canucks are open to moving kuzmenko is if he can’t agree to terms with them on a new contract… assuming horvat and more is moved out then they should have room to resign him…
But if pit wanted to acquire him, it starts with as Rutherford said a younger change of scenery player… then def a 1st and a prospect like poulin…
So for schenn and kuzmenko
Pit could offer
1st, kapanen, poulin, one of POJ/Smith, one of our goalie prospects

Big line changes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pensfan21</b></div><div>I'm open to anything line wise, but I do think Guentzel in this case should be on second instead of Rust. He's just too good to be bottom 6. Rust I think would really elevate third line and Zucker or Guentzel can play RW. I wonder how much say the guys do have in line combos. I think it's dangerous when players dictate too much who their linemates are. I'm not saying they should have no say, but when the coach refuses to change the lineup because of them then that's a problem. I feel like there might be too much blending of roles between players, coach, and GM. I think they all need to just do their jobs to the best of their ability with collaboration, but not too much influence.</div></div>
I get what you mean but in that case kessel was also too good for the third line lol 😂

Big line changes
For lines there’s a lot of options but Sully is stubborn for sure… Sid and geno would complain if they don’t get the top guys but I say forget it…kap wouldn’t be a good influence on geno as they’d play off each other and go east west like sully hates so I wouldn’t put them together…
Maybe try…
McGinn-Sid-Rakell
Zucker-Geno-Rust
Guentzel-Poehling-Kapanen
O’Connor-Blueger-Archibald (INJ) /Carter
Heinen
Blueger doesn’t have the offense for #3C but poehling might idk… with a couple skilled wingers maybe it would work…

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pensfan21</b></div><div>I really don't hate this idea. I was advocating for putting Tanev on the first line when he was still here.</div></div>
Pens used to mix and match a lot more when they didn’t have bona fide top-6 guys like guentzel, rust, zucker, and Rakell…

Pens when healthy need to spread the wealth across 3 lines and scratch people
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JSEB93</b></div><div>Damn I was thinking of doing this same thing haha - would be awkward now. It's difficult because the Zucker/Malkin/Rust line has been so dominant that you don't want to break them up. At the same time having Guentzel or Rakell on the 3rd line seems like a crime.
If they wanted to mix it up I would maybe go.........
McGinn/Crosby/Rakell
Guentzel/Malkin/Kapanen(Carter)
Zucker/Blueger/Rust
Archibald/Poehling/Carter(Kapanen)
Maybe swap Zucker and McGinn possibly. Idk. The issue with the current 3rd line is their being deployed almost exclusively in the defensive zone but don't play defensively lol. And that falls on the coach</div></div>
I thought of that… I wanted to leave malkin and Sid with at least one of their line mates tho… meaning guentzel and rust move down I think… I could see Rakell and McGinn and blueger as the third line tho… I just didn’t want Jeff carter in the top-9…
In my idea let the 4th line start exclusively in the d-zone and balance the other starts between what’s supposed to do 3 scoring lines who keep momentum… a 4th line that plays 10 min or under can’t hurt us as bad as a 3rd line that plays 13-15

Worst game in years
I don’t remember a pens team that was this up and down… 4-0-1 to start then 0-6-1 then a crazy streak of 15-3-2 now it looks like we’re starting another losing streak as we’re now 0-1-2 and we’ve blown a bunch of leads again…
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pensfan21</b></div><div>I would do that trade easy. This might sound dumb given we let him go, but I'd inquire about Tanev too. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I really feel we need that type of player regardless of the fact he used to be on our roster. He brought it every game. Don't know how much he'd cost, but doubt he's untouchable for them. Maybe even a Tanev + Soucy trade.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Imagine874859</b></div><div>I'd love that. Again, dont think trading Dumo is really realistic but ig it could be possible. Really depends on the player were getting back</div></div>

We just need players that play like they care… the 4th line and the second power play gave us a 4-0 lead and the top-6 and that awful dumo-ruuta pairing coasted and got whooped by and young DET team… it was the second half of a back to back and they looked like they ran out of gas

Worst game in years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Imagine874859</b></div><div>OT goal was on POJ there. Saw his man flying down the wing and POJ slowed down and let him get to the net for the easy tap in. Also partially Sully's fault for putting Jeff in for 3 on 3. Guy is the slowest out there. Looked like a PK. Pens need changes to the 3rd line. McGinn is the only guy I trust. Kapanen, Heinen, need to go and Carter needs to be scratched.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gonefishin</b></div><div>PO could have done more. Letang has been a turnover machine. Doumolin has not done a single thing. Kapenen and heinen haven't done anything. We need a solid 3rd line center and a younger, faster defenseman. The last thing is we give up about 20 more shots than we should. By the end of the 2nd, they have a game's worth of shots</div></div>
POJ should have stayed with his man… if he did 75% chance that goal doesn’t go in… he caught him almost then turned away… made zero sense… also sids line was a -3 idk what’s happening with that…

TRADE DEADLINE for the HABITANTS of HOCKEY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>-Edmonton is going to have to get creative with the cap to bring Evander Kane back off LTIR when he's healthy - why are they spending $2.75M of their limited cap space for a guy with 5 assists in 18 games? Much less giving up a pair of assets for him? Drouin has no value at this point with that cap hit and lack of production.
-So Winnipeg is gonna give up their 1st round pick in last year's draft (McGroarty) plus this year's 1st round for a rental forward who's probably a 3C when everyone's healthy and a guy who'd be their 4th best RHD? This is an insane overpay for this package - Winnipeg easily passes.
-Jake Allen has a .900 SV% and 3.26 GAA so far this season. LA's goaltenders, as a whole, have a 3.28 GAA this year. And you have the Kings giving up a 3rd rounder (plus a goalie prospect) for that "improvement"? Kings pass.
-Dadonov has 7 points in 28 GP and would cost $2.5M for a Capitals team that a)doesn't have the cap space and b)has at least 5-6 forwards better than Dadonov when everyone's healthy. Just like Drouin, it's going to take a radical turnaround for this guy to return any sort of positive asset - at this point, he's getting paid middle-6 money to put up replacement level production.</div></div>
All makes sense thanks 🙏🏻 just trying to gauge the values of this teams pieces… not a habs fan so don’t watch them much…
