Yeah that’s what they said about the NBA in-season tournament and we all saw what happened
Now they still experimenting in the NBA so im holding off as I want to see the finished product next year. As apparently they still deciding if it could have playoff implications.
Anyways yea NHL dont do the same wait till NBA finishes it then see its viable or not.

I think it could work in NHL and it doesn't have to have any playoff cred., but it could.
In minor hockey, there's Christmas tourneys and Easter/Spring ones all the time that do not factor into end of the year playoffs.
They are a great way to amp up the middle of the season and get your team going for season's end...
It's weird because he has a lethal shot, but he's definitely not a game changer. I feel like any highlight of his involves someone else doing all of the work and him finishing it.

He's like a striker in soccer/futbol. If you don't have a good one you're team will struggle at scoring; but if you have a good one you notice all the great support they get but still get the glory.
Better to have it than not; but hard to value something that is that rare

I mean the playoff stuff would be more so for WC or to where they would fight a WC team for the remaining spot

He’s also one of the best passers in the league. His accuracy/vision lead make life very easy for the guys who he plays with
Yeah, that was just weird, he lost his cool and jumped Zub... Who was not responsible for anything, if he went over and just held Zub or something that seems on par for scuffle after injuries but why attack Zub when you have no reason to
Gonna be be looking real nice for them once they have the 12th Overall pick, and Granlund + Hoffman both look like trade chips. Granlunds got 18 points in 21 games.
Meanwhile, Karlsson has played well in PIT, better than I expected even, but Pittsburgh has to make the playoffs + Karlsson has to play well for them to be considered as the winners there.
I know it's an unpopular take, but I think Grier has done a fairly good job in San Jose. They were one of the most undesirable jobs with their lack of prospect pool, # of long and lengthy contracts, and their difficult ownership. There is a few times I would've drafted differently but overall I think he's done pretty well. I think San Jose is on the right track.
Why isn't anybody talking about Matt Tkachuk falling on his face this year? He went from 109 points last year to on pace for 60 this year. Scored 40 goals last year, On pace for 12.5 Goals this year....
Bc the media only talks about a Tkachuk when they are doing well
Get your point but I don't think Matthews has actually gotten 5 in 1 lol
But I don't think the statsheet tells the full story about Matthews... Kind of reminds me about the areas of progress that Slaf is doing better in...
Then you factor in the defence and the increase Defensive zone start %... He's impressed me this season
I'm not saying he's a **** player or anything, he's top 10 and at times can be the best player in the world, but the top 5 is reserved for the Elite of the Elite.
