Description

I feel the Chicago Blackhawks are an interesting team. They've got an elite forward group, but they seem to struggle defensively, especially against a team like Vegas who have a heavy forecheck. The series is not over, but I can't see them winning this with the amount of zone time they're giving up. I don't think Keith should be playing top pair minutes anymore, so perhaps they can trade some of their forwards for 1-2 reliable minute-eating defenceman, as well as a few defensive forwards to fill out the bottom 6.

if the blackhawks are just "a few pieces away" from the cup and that includes half their defence an elite forward and 3 top 9 forwards, then literally every team is a few pieces away
also that is the worst marner trade in the history of the world and that is saying something coming from you

Dude, I don't know if I'd do Necas for Cat 1 for 1. Necas is expansion exempt, on his ELC and their upside is very comparable.

I don’t disagree but I’ve been seeing this trade get thrown around a lot so I just went with it. Cat’s market value per HBAnalytics is 11 Million, he’s heavily outperforming his contract.

Mikko Koivu is a 4C who is useful for the occasional defensive zone faceoff and that's about it at this point. He's not a 3C on a Cup contending team.

Unless I'm missing something, you traded for Kunin and then didn't sign him?

Kunin is more of a wing. They've tried him at center when there have been injuries, but he's never stuck despite them needing one.
