When I suggested Beck, Barron and our Jets first round pick for Necas you were laughing.

For Caufield it starts with Necas your first of 2024 and another piece minimum ! LMAO 🤣

The only way this ends up close to happening would be for the Canes to trade Necas. I couldn't see the Habs giving up Caulfield without getting a high talent young player in return

LMAO, Necas starts with Caufield, not the other way around! This package is the same value as something like Beck, and the Winnipeg 1st. It's why I'm laughing. Now you see how bad your offer was

Thank you for seeing why the Necas to Montreal posts need to die! Carolina aren't going to move Necas for futures, either!

caufield is younger by 2 years. Necas was putting up 40 points a the same age that caufield will put 60 ish points.

Canes fans will say necas is more valuable, habs fan will says its caufield. I'll let fans of other teams decide.

Good for him. Points aren't everything. Unless you think Blake wheeler was better than Patrice bergeron

I'm not a fan of either team

i know. dont think necas is a bergeron too. caufield's job will always be to score point and goals. At some poitnif you score enough points, you become more valuable than more rounded player.

You're opinion is very valid, dont necessarily disagree with. i think there is a chance caufield can elevate his game even higher too offensively given he is still young. He has got better every year so far.

I don't think you understand Necas's value. If you want him, it takes that kinda package. Necas is much more valuable than "sniper reputation" guy who has 70 goals over the last 3 years and horrific defensive numbers.

I love that in the mayhem of the replies of the ACGM, you find a way to pick out Jordan Staal... honestly, it doesn't matter because his buyout penalty is only 200k, but this made me laugh. Thank you.

Points aren't everything, you're right. That's why even with Caufield having a "down year" in terms of goal production, everyone is happy with his season because he rounded out his game significantly. He's no longer a defensive liability that he was last season, he doesn't shy away from physical play and can hold his own, and he showed he has a playmaking component to his game,
And with regards to the goal production, again, no one is concerned. He's 9th in total shots in the NHL, and out of the top 20 only Caufield, J.Hughes, M.Tkachuk, and Tavares are shooting below %10 (Caufield with the lowest at 7.6%), to which everyone agrees all of them are having "down years" in terms of goal scoring. If Caufield was shooting even around league averages he'd be at about 30 goals, and if he'd be shooting at his normal shooting% (around 16%), he'd be around 45 goals...

As others have mentioned, if you look at both Caufield and Necas's production at the same age, it's really not close. It's pretty clear Caufield has a higher offensive ceiling.

That being said, CAR would probably rather Necas over Caufield, and MTL would rather Caufield over Necas. CAR want to win now, MTL can afford to be patient and hope Caufield reaches his potential. Necas's next contract could change things in terms of his value (for better or for worse).

Doubt Fast waives for Ottawa and even if he did I can’t see Ottawa adding a pick if Branny’s going the other way. Pass.

Fast has more value than Brannstrom, and I don't think it's close, and even if this didn't address Ottawa's desperate need for bottom six help while getting rid of a D man that has struggled to make the lineup consistently in Ottawa, that was not at all the point of this ACGM

Interesting that you think Brannstrom has struggled to make the lineup considering he’s dressed for 68 of 74 games this year… and that 5 of those 6 games were missed with a concussion after being hit in October.

If he’s likely worth a mid round pick and you have Ottawa adding a 4th for Fast that would mean you think Fast is worth what, a 2nd? He’s a good bottom 6 player but 6 goals on the year.. come on the 4th might be enough by itself.
