Dobson for Tkachuk
Dobson and Tkachuk are probably comparable enough to be interesting, but throwing Pinto in and taking back JGP's contract is an absolute non-starter

ahhh yes the "sniper" whose career high is 26 goals, that's the gamechanger Ottawa really needs to turn this around

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jaok3</b></div><div>That RD would be pushed around by a 90yr old one legged woman. Carrier is the exact opposite guy the leafs need with Rielly.</div></div>
Literally everyone I see proposed with Rielly is a bad fit - just because someone's big and good defensively doesn't mean he's a good fit. Parayko is a name that gets thrown around a lot, but his skills and Rielly's overlap too much imo and he's bad on the penalty kill. Gudas would be ideal but I don't think that's happening.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchJr</b></div><div>Stick to the SENs bud; at least they’re not hard to ‘wrap your head around’ - their core players are just not good enough.
This is all kinds of wrong:
1/ start with cap going up next year, $87.7M
2/ Teurvainen is exactly NOT what this teams needs & at that cap hit, you best be joking
3/ Kampf and Jarnkrok aren’t getting traded; and they both have M-NTC which probably include the bottom feeder teams you trade them to</div></div>
I forgot to adjust the cap, but I figured Carrier's contract might come in higher, so I didn't think it was necessary to fix it.
Now, if you think the Sens' biggest issue is their core players not being good enough, then I'll keep waiting for you to show some evidence of knowing anything about hockey before I consider responding to anything else you're saying.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>stuuuuuuuuuuutzle</b></div><div>I know they probably won't do all these, but I think most of these would make sense.
I think, outside of Steeves, no prospect is ready to make the jump. Cowan should get 9 games and maybe he wows, but I think that's about it.
As for Kampf on the PK, he's still been generally bad this year, and outside of last year has historically been pretty bad on the kill for his career. Dewar is a high-end penalty killer who it would be much better to give 1.3 to than to keep spending 2+ for Kampf. Kampf is dead last on the team in any PK metric.
Lastly, on Robertson, he's third on the team in goals per 60 5v5. You need to take advantage of that and play him in the top six. I see no reason he can't challenge for 30 playing consistently with good forwards. Maybe you can get him cheaper but I think this contract is fine.</div></div>

Also, you can't forget about Grebenkin, Niemela and any other prospect making the jump...</div></div>

That's what I was thinking - maybe you'd have to hold a bit more salary but Jarnkrok at that price is a fine bottom six veteran with Okposo out

Getting creative with PIT
I think the Jarry trade is good - I like Kleven fine but he's just a 3rd pair D. As for the Korpisalo deal, I think I'd honestly rather just buy him out than give up Brännström. Chychrun deal is probably a bit pricey for Florida but I would love that return

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gpmack95</b></div><div>So is the Norris trade too much?</div></div>
I'm not sure really - I would be intrigued to know what Ottawa management would think of this.
But I do get why it would be an intriguing move for Pittsburgh.

No Title
You would regret getting rid of Liljegren and Robertson for next to nothing. I also cannot think of a worse fit for the Leafs top six than Tyler, especially at that salary.
I also loved Woll pre-injury, but now with his struggles since, a Woll-Jones tandem would be really scary.
Overall, I think this is a bubble team that has not gotten significantly better.

For Caufield it starts with Necas your first of 2024 and another piece minimum ! LMAO 🤣</div></div>
I don't think you understand Necas's value. If you want him, it takes that kinda package. Necas is much more valuable than "sniper reputation" guy who has 70 goals over the last 3 years and horrific defensive numbers.

Definitely don't hate the Jarry trade from a Sens perspective - it's actually probably a very good one for us.
The Norris trade is probably stealing for Ottawa - but that would be Pittsburgh really swinging for the fences because if Norris could find his game again, you're getting a 35-goal scorer for free to play on a powerplay that has been awful.

Trading Karlsson is not the answer in a quick retool. GMs won't give you fair value because of his contract, and getting rid of him leaves you with a horrific top 4

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riddick19</b></div><div>Yeah Ottawa will most likely decline that pretty quick. Ottawa is looking for a 2nd and an NHL-Ready prospect for him. The 2nd rounder becomes a 1st rounder if the teram acquiring him wants Ottawa to retain money on the deal. So think more along the lines of B. Brisson & 2nd rounder..... or with money retained a 1st rounder & B. Brisson.</div></div>
Obviously we hope that's what we get, but at the end of the day we need to move him - if there's not a bidding war, we might end up having to take this

LOL. The Pittsburgh offer is a joke. You can't acquire two elite players without giving up any high-end piece. Ritchie's a great prospect, but he doesn't work as the centerpiece of a deal to get one of the greatest center-winger combos in hockey
