Perfetti
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nix</b></div><div>To be fair, Perfetti is watching the playoffs from the press box. He shows flashes of being a star but it’s very inconsistent and the foot speed still isn’t there. The Jets still very much believe in him, (and still a very good chance he becomes a good player) so I don’t think this trade would never happen.</div></div>
didn't know that, interesting to see if he gets in at some point

Perfetti
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NYRxLundqvist</b></div><div>If ones a bust then both are busts... just comparing stats</div></div>
Kakko is a year older, and has 2 more years of NHL experience, the expectations for Kakko are also higher as a 2nd overall pick than Perfetti at 10th. Perfetti is just over .5 points per game over his career, Kakko's best season was just under .5, I wouldn't call either a bust, as ultimately they're NHL players playing a decent role, but Kakko certainly is a disappointing 2nd overall pick, while Perfetti is showing more signs of being worthy of his draft position.

all that those moves do is waste assets to try and turn a bad team into a contender, but then everyone new leaves after 1-2 years and all that's left is weegar's contract isn't gonna look any better in a few years most likely

Picking 5th
What's everyone's obsession with the habs trading for a top 10 pick to draft a forward in a defense heavy class that's overall weaker than the average draft when they already have a top 5 pick and likely get one of the few forwards actually worth being top 10

Montreal Canadiens 2024-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DrDuck</b></div><div>Yesterday, Hughes said that he doesn't want to sign players for too many years because of his prospects. Myers make so much sense because you know that Reinbacher and Mailloux will much probably be on his top 4 in 2-3 years old. Same thing with Adam Henrique...</div></div>
I'm not against the idea, but the players chosen don't seem like the best options. I'd rather go for Dylan DeMelo or Chris Tanev if they have any interest in coming to Montreal, or even Colin Miller on defense, and up front I like Sprong a lot but he can't play center which would be a nice thing to have, never can have too many centers. Other forwards like Stephenson, Lindholm or cheaper alternatives like Jack Roslovic would make more sense to me, both Henrque and Myers are old and probably want a cup more than anything rn, Montreal isn't the place to go for that rn

Montreal Canadiens 2024-25
idk bout the free agent signings, but the trades are fine, I'd keep RHP for one more year, the odds that 5th becomes something is low enough I'd rather see if RHP for one more year, to see which RHP is the real one, the 14 goals in 34 games one or the 2 goals in 45 games. I think he can be a Paul Byron type of player, who was a solid 3rd/4th liner in Montreal and had a few years as a top 6 forward in which he scored fairly well but even if the 2 goals in 45 games RHP is all he is, then oh well, let him leave as a free agent

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Proven bottom pairing defensemen are plentiful and easy to find. None of them cost a high 2nd (except at the TDL), so a struggling, unproven, bottom pairing defenseman that are a dime a dozen, won't return a high 2nd from anyone. His value would be a 3rd or lower, he hasn't increased his value in Montreal.</div></div>
he's young enough his value would be more than say Ian Cole because there's still untapped potential, but yeah a 2nd might be too much

DRAFT EISERMAN PLUS TRADE UP FOR IGINLA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>I remember Zadina was highly rated in his draft year.
He lit up the Q with his quick, lethal shot.
He was the consensus #3 pick behind Dahlin and Svechnikov.
But he fell to #6 and Detroit picked him over Hughes, Dobson and Bouchard. 😬</div></div>
I got to see Zadina play in juniors, I was pissed when the Habs passed on him, in hindsight he wasn't the right choice but neither was Kotkaniemi...

DRAFT EISERMAN PLUS TRADE UP FOR IGINLA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SharkTank</b></div><div>If he's Ovi on the PP he should have a great NHL career! 😁</div></div>
In theory yes, but my point is he's good for one thing and one thing only, which generally doesn't translate well to the NHL. He's not got the skillset to play bottom 6, and he's very one-dimensional, he needs a Backstrom attached to him to succeed imo, and I don't think he's a guy that will succeed without significant development, he's a low-floor high-ceiling guy

DRAFT EISERMAN PLUS TRADE UP FOR IGINLA
I wouldn't trade an unprotected 1st in a stronger draft class to reach on Eiserman, and I'm not on the Iginla hype train, I think he's good but not 5th/6th overall good

he has a very good shot and lacks pretty much everywhere else, I always think of him being ovi on the powerplay

fair, it's hard to get a real idea of what guys like Barron and Harris are worth, some people will say a 1st, others say a 4th, reality it's somewhere in between, I guessed Barron would be enough to move up 2 rounds but it depends on who's available more than anything

2016 Redraft
I'd argue hagel > laine, mainly because he plays more than Laine over the past few seasons, and Sergachev is a few spots too low imo, last year he had 64 points, more than Hronek or Chychrun have even had in a season, but has been unlucky with injuries this season

wait.. there it is. . I see a 1st round pick and two defensemen that had better offensive seasons on a team without a Brayden Point or Kucherov on their team</div></div>
Cernak is one of the best defensive dmen in the league, not saying the offer isn't enough but personally I wouldn't trade Cernak to keep Stamkos, because it's only a matter of time before Stamkos regresses/retires, Cernak will help keep Tampa competitive for longer

I also want to clarify that I never said the return for Zett would be a 1++. If he’s plays at the same pace and someone wants to trade for him. That’s a RFA 20 goal scorer x2 making under 2million and team control. He’s also a profile the sharks really really like. that means if he is gonna move it’s gonna be an over pay. You chose to take overpay as meaning 1st++ I didn’t say that headhack</div></div>
gotcha, that's what I was saying too, he'd cost more than the stats would suggest because he's young and on a team that needs pretty much everything rn, they won't trade him unless they feel they're getting a really good deal, and Barron is not that

Buyout Anderson and Dvorak
clearing money makes no sense right now, team is more than a few free agents away from being truly competitive for years, spreading the cap over multiple years when we can just pay it all off now makes no sense, we can just let the deals run out and not have buyout penalties afterwards, even if they're little money it's better to have none
