Sympathy for the Devil
2OA is not McDavid. Devils get 2 established NHLERS, one good prospect and a late 1st round pick while there is no guarantee the 2OA will ever play in the NHL. This is a lot for Devils that want to be in the playoffs next year.

Shane Wright Draft
Rem Pitlick was on waiver, he should not get more than 1.5M for 2 years. He is a 3-4 liner depth. We could see what he could do. We do not want the same mistake as Armia.

Big mistake to sign Kane. Oilers should let him go, he is a big distraction for the team and not a team player.

Offseason trades 12
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Five guys Las Vegas won't trade: Pacioretty, Eichel, Stone, Pietrangelo and Theodore.
If you think that they would trade Theodore for cap relief, then they'd want high-value current NHLers on minimum contracts -- guys with sky-high upsides who can play next season. Now, who does that sound like to you?</div></div>
You are right I was too optimistic ! LOL

I agree for Vegas but my thinking was Vegas has a cap problem and not many young talented players in their pipeline. What would need to be added to be fair value ?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonh514</b></div><div>You can't just have kids on your team. They need some veterans to help them understand how to be a professional and what it takes to win. Letang is one of the league's best and is finding ways to stay on top. 8M will be a hometown discount IMO. He can get 8.5-9.5 as the top D on the market have been getting as of last season.</div></div>
I see your point. We have Edmundson, Savard Byron and Price. Letang is too expensive we will regret it like Gallagher.

I like Letang but 5 years at 8M$ is way too much. I would give 7M$ for 3 years max but IMO I would pass we are rebuilding and we need to spend on young talented players.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Habs4ever</b></div><div>While I do like Crouse, I definitely would not trade Logan Mailloux. I saw him play 3 games this year and he will definitely eventually be a top four dman in the NHL for a decade. A big right hand shot that can skate, are hard to find. In 3 years, Barron #2 & Logan #4. Very solid right side for a decade.</div></div>
I agree but the concern is the pressure he will have in Montreal with the error he made. It would be better for the team and the kid to be in a less media scrutinize environment. Arizona fits perfectly IMO.

The KRAKEN trade same thing Armia at 3.4 mil is a horrible contract both of these players should be considered salary dumps . Bergevin screwed up habs cap for years to come . It will be 2 to 3 yrs before habs are out of cap hell . With HOFFMAN , SAVARD , GALLAGHER 6 goals 16points 6.5 mil for 5 more years , PRICE 4 x 10.5 remaining , BYRON . These 7 players are 37 to 38 million against the cap and have multiple years remaining . Petry will be hard trade aswell because of his age and length of contract but i believe he is tradeable with retained salary .</div></div>
I agree but we must be creative to try to trade some of them every year.

That is why the leafs will never go to the cup finals. MTL did with Price. Stop bashing and be logic a little. Maybe the trade is not perfect but without a good defence and an excellent goalie the leafs will never pass the second round of playoffs.

Anderson to LA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>If Anderson is worth that, then he must be good; if he's that good, why would you be trading him?</div></div>
Because it is a good fit for both. LA gets a big grit and speedy guy that can score to complement their talented players (Brown is retiring) while we get some talent to add goals the we are missing in our team. Farrel is a good prospect that balance the trade IMO. I think it is not that bad if you think about it.

Anderson to LA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jay27</b></div><div>The trade I’m going to choose to pick on here is the NYR deal. I happen to like Evans a lot, he’s fast, plays hard, great attitude, kills penalties and as a former 7th rounder is an awesome underdog story.
I just don’t see why the Habs would give up a guy like that for Kravstov. There’s questions about his attitude and there’s questions surrounding if he’ll even be able to leave Russia come next season.</div></div>
If we pick Shane Wright and with the centers we have already and in the minors, I think Evans could get us a good talented winger to play with Suzuki. I think that Kravstov problem was he could not be on the top 6 in NYR while in MTL he could. I feel we could see his talent explode. I might be wrong. Also Evans history of injuries scares me.

Interesting good job. What about Ty Smilanic ? I would put him at least in the top ten. IMO we have too many small players so I would use Farrel as an addition for a big trade this summer.

We gave you a 25 goals scorer with Danault for nothing. LOL
Like Chiarot, Lehkonen and Kulak Montreal players worth nothing for all other teams fans. Every NHL analysts say that Anderson’s value is high.
Do you think that Kupari would be more realistic.

I prefer the attitude and work ethic of Byron to help the young core grow. He is also from Ottawa. That makes a lot of sense to me and he worths a 3rnd pick in 2023. He can still play in all situations. He would help them a lot.</div></div>

Barzal and Martin in MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>habs_need_Scoring</b></div><div>ya thats my point, the previous comment made it seem like Barzal is worth suzuki +, Barzal has regressed each year offensively since he signed his bridge and his next contract will probably be in the 8.5-9mil range. Makes no sense for habs to do a 1 for 1, and on the flip side i'm sure Islanders view Barzal ceiling extremely high so they would never move him except for a kings ransom.</div></div>
I think Barzal might not be happy in Trotz’s system and he could produce more in an offensive system. This is what Hugues want to implement. Barzal would fit perfectly. It was just a thought.

Jets had to give a 3rd round prospect Nathan Smith with Bryan Little's contract. I think for Weber we need to give similar value. We can argue on which prospect. I prefer to keep our 2022 and 2023 draft pricks.

I think Kadri will ask more around 8M$ + for at least 6 years. He is over 1 PPG. I would prefer Strome or Trocheck they are younger and would cost less. Letang is too old and fragile and asking to much. He will not help of salary cap by replacing Petry by a higher salary. I would keep Dvorak he seems to get it back together with MSL.

We went to the final with him and he was good in the playoffs. He would help the Leafs. But you still need a good goaler for playoffs otherwise it will be difficult. Good luck my friend.
