Love the deal for both sides. Seattle gets their 1D at a nice AAV for the next 4 years and Dunn gets a chance to get a raise whenever the cap is up at the end of this deal.
Only 4 years takes him until he's 30, but that AAV is SUPER high for a guy that has never shown signs of being able to consistently produce offensively like he did last season...

Are you serious? How do we know that last season wasn't a flash in the pan?
I think this is a contract that serves both Dunn and the Kraken well. Dunn gets a nice payday coming off his breakout season and if he continues to produce like he has will get the opportunity to cash in again down the road while still in his prime. The Kraken get at least four more years of their best LHD who has blossomed into a legitimate top-pairing defenseman during his time in Seattle. Vince Dunn's play and his partnership with Adam Larsson have been critical to Seattle's success, and I'm excited to see him continue work his on-ice magic in a Kraken uniform for many years to come!
I guess this is what 1 good season gets you these days in the world of Ron Francis. He’s a good two-way defenseman and all but 7.35 is about 2 mil too high IMO.

Mate, take off the Kraken glasses for a moment. This is a serious overpay. He’s 500k short of Quinn Hughes money and he’s half the player.

He's purely an offensive defenseman, not a two-way player
We said the same about Tage when he signed ''What if it's just a flash in the pan??''. Both sides will be more than fine.
There was an argument that Tage was the worst forward in the league who regularly got ice time prior to his breakout.
Dunn has been an analytical darling for years
