What if Tampa overpaid for Jeannot so the price for other players during the deadline skyrocket forcing other Eastern conference teams to sell the farm to acquire guys like Chychrun, Kane, McCabe, Lafferty, Schenn, and other rentals. Would be 5D chess by them

I'd like at least a first round pick back. Management would look pretty foolish if they trade Miller for spare parts less than a year after signing him to an 8x7 contract

I really wonder why Flyers are clearing contract space maybe Sanheim deal? Bring back more contracts? Taking on Cap dumps? Maybe I'm too optimistic?

Taking in cap dumps most likely. Perfect year to take back young players on over inflated contract for cheap.

I do t wanna be mean to Vancouver fans but I don’t think JT miller has any value….he doesn’t drive play enough for 9% of the salary cap. I don’t think you can pay to offload him.

Kinda the same position my blues are in with Jordan Kyrou.

Both are good nhl-ers, neither drive 9-10% of the teams total on ice action, and then they get exposed when there isn’t cap left to sign the support they need to be productive. Atleast Miller is a center, but still. 9-10% goes to your 1C, not your 2C. And in the Blues case, just 🤦‍♂️

I feel the age of giving huge contracts to above average but not great offensive players will end, not because the comps change, but because teams just will stop paying. It is better for the clubs to literally let the players walk.
