The only thing is if you lessen the "filler" games you have an extended period where games dont happen or dont matter. I dont want them to add any more teams to the playoffs. 16 is plenty. they 100% need to go back to 1-8 conference style playoffs but you arent getting more meaningful hockey games, you are just getting them sooner.

im talking about regular season. give me 50ish games over 82. now every game means so much more. i know it will never happen but it's what i'd like to see.

honestly it wasn't as bad as the score suggests. ingram was solid, rittich was ****.

32 games is 2+ months of hockey though, yes they are more meaningful in a way, but thats less hockey fans get to enjoy regardless if its filler or not. not that i love back 2 backs but when you figure theres a game roughly every 2-2.5 days now. and you shorten that its more like 3.5 to 4 games. the rest is good for overall player health but i do believe the product would suffer.

i know this is a hockey forum but baseball. baseball is WAY too long. 162 games, make it 100 or less keep the schedule the same. those guys dont need to play 20 games in 28 days. let them have some semblance of a livfe.

yea im ok with that tradeoff. ideally id like to see each team play one game weekday game and one weekend game a week. keep the season length the same. i think the quality will go up even if the quantity goes down.

i think thats a lot of rust every week for guys that get used to a certain schedule.
