Vladislav Gavrikov a signé un contrat de 3 ans d'une valeur de 8 400 000 $ avec les Blue Jackets de Columbus, le 5 nov. 2020. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 2 800 000 $.
Pretty good AAV but leads him directly to UFA. Guess Russians don't like Columbus
CBJ have a ton of players hitting FA at the same time in the next 2-3 years. Don't know whether to see this as some big plan by GMJK or if its just players are tired of his "wielding the hammer" negotiations.
FWIW, the contract itself is good. Lower AAV than I was expecting, but I was also expecting them to pick up more of his UFA years.
Great deal. I was always high on Gavrikov. Smooth skater, makes the right plays, this could potentially look like an Ekholm type contract if he keeps developing.
Wizardry by Jarmo here. According to Jack Johnson mathematics, Gavrikov is worth roughly 7.304 Jack Johnsons. Now, would you rather 1 Vladislav Gavrikov or 7.304 Jack Johnsons. I think the answer is quite easy

well, if you could play 7 JJ at once, I would take them...lol
This seems like a covid deal. I had him pegged at 4 mil, but longer term.
Off 1.2 million, not a ton, but much shorter than I expected. 5-6 years.
It's a great deal for CBJ though. At least if he stays after it.

I don't know, he's like a bad penny, every time he's on the ice the other team scores. It doesn't even have to have anything to do with him. They other team scores.
So 7x the bad luck......no thanks.

Other than having to go through 11 players, even if there are 7 JJ's, it would be difficult to score
So what do you guys think. They had 12M space. Gavrikov eats 2.8M.
They sign Dubois to hopefully around 7 years x 8M?
Leaves 1.2M and Nyquist 5.5M in LTIR.
Is Kekalainen going for Hoffman or Granlund for example?
Wtf are the options when Nyquist is fine in April? If the window is closed it would get tricky. Their current contracts are hard to move or buyout for significant cap space.
