Well they are over the cap and still have RFAs to sign so someone is getting shipped/bought out to fit this

I guess this is Calgary trying to get something for Mangiapane before he becomes a UFA next summer, making the move now instead of carrying his cap hit to the deadline. I'm curious to see what else they're going to do this summer. Are they going to say it's time for a rebuild, or try to replace the talent they've lost?

They’re opening up a spot for Younger Talent to get more ice time, i.e. Coronato, Pelletier, Schwindt, Klapka, Honzek & Morton

That said, they might still take on a bad contract for compensation in return (Jeannot) or a project, like Kotkaniemi

Calgary got a decent asset back for a player that wasn't living up to their contract. They also got a LOT of cap space to weaponize during their obvious rebuild.
