Stillman was god awful under Bruce and barely a #7 under Tocchet. I often said I would pay to get rid of him. Not having him on the books next year (and crowding out much better players) is a massive win for us.

Weird. Sam Ventura & his numbers team must see something they like here. Our 3LHD defenitely needed an upgrade but idk if this is one compared to Bryson/Clague.

Bloom was like 10-15th on our prospect chart, but still he seemed like a decent chance at being a strong bottom-sixer that can kill pks and still chip in points. A bit too much to give up imo

This may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen GMKA do. Bloom is an awesome prospect that could easily turn into something much more. Don’t understand why you’d trade for a bottom pair defender.

I cant believe the canucks didnt have to pay to get rid of stillman. He's been pretty awful for the canucks on a team that doesnt have many defensive options

Bloom is a solid prospect and I really like his gameplay and personality. However, being completely realistic, there would be no roster spot for him on Buffalo. There are many better players far ahead of him in the forward prospect pipeline. Stillman is not a special player, maybe a good 7th D man option. I do think its an upgrade over Bryson/Clague however. Vancouver wins this because I think trading Bloom could have acquired us a player of better calibre than Stillman. Hopefully Bloom can bloom in Vancouver wink

I heard Stillman is next level bad this year so I think they where probably better options for BUF.

Bloom is a 19 year old.

VAN wins this trade, but pretty minor.
