Yes it's possible, but why? He's one of the 10 best offensive D's in the league. Caps need to add scoring. They need to trade picks/prospects to upgrade their offense. I'm thinking Miller/Boeser or someone along those lines. Carlson has 40 points in 50 games. If the PP was average, he'd be close to a P/PG

As far as I'm aware, those teams just dissolve and the contracts are voided.

Most of those KHL teams already had a team in that city in their respective league. The most we'd see are players abdicating from the KHL to play in their home leagues or other European circuits. The Champions Hockey League is probably the closest thing we'll see to that Pan-Europe tournament.
