Description
Switch it up. Get Anderson back to CBJ where he played well, Laine needs a reset as well. We really need goal scorers… CBJ gets a former first with a lot of promise and a 2nd. Cap hits kind of equal out given Laine’s underperformance….. everybody wins

I can’t tell if you’re trolling or if you actually believe this. Ur trading for a PPG player and only giving away a useless cap dump player, a decent young player, and a late 2nd. CBJ may not even accept that trade if you take laine out of it 😂

i dont think he has much value. second round pick ish maybe + meh prospect. it really depends on what money is going the other way.

They will just not take josh anderson. they would probably rather ship him out for free than that.

Laine needs to play, which he hasn't been, and for a competent team, something the blue jackets haven't been since torts left. His value is more than that, something like a mid-late 1st and a B/B- prospect is probably all it would take (heard from a CBJ fan) and that above is not there

Columbus just keeps Laine and hopes rebounds, or the contract is insured and it doesn’t matter if he returns. Wouldn’t take Anderson back for that without Laine included.

It would cost much more than that just to dump Anderson on someone. That's $16.5 mil of cap you're asking a team to flush down the toilet.

Doesn’t sound like laine is returning to Columbus, Anderson probably a nonstarter, possibly not a burnt bridge, but just doesn’t really fit a window or need. Barron could be interesting but his ceiling is probably limited and getting later as a prospect. Not exactly sure Montreal and that pressure cooker of a media market is exactly right for a recovering player making more than the top player currently on the squad. Just don’t overly see the fit either way, I wonder if a pit or Carolina come a calling with a aho or poolparty and try to reignite some magic from those finish junior teams. Columbus in a tight spot either way.

I just find it funny that so many Montreal fans think they're the only team that doesn't have to pay to move one of their cap dumps.

Where’s the reporting on laine? I haven’t seen that Laine is done with Columbus.

Seen just one quote that way, but possibly just click bait, hasn’t gained any traction anyway. Probably just pure speculation

late 2nd*, and Anderson doesn't add any value to this, if anything he's taking away value from the package

I was coming in filled with fear and trepidation that the title indicated a garbage premise for yet another KJ poaching attempt. That this manages to not be such an abomination wins you points.

That said, you're overstating Laine's situation and we're not taking back that Anderson contract under any circumstances.

Barron is a first round pick… and given his age and development timeline he’s on pace.

That is not how that works. He’s 22 and still not a full-time NHLer despite playing a premium position. There is absolutely no chance any team in the league gives you a first for him, and therefore he is unequivocally not worth the same as a first. Plus no chance Columbus is interested in another mid RHD. Plenty of those in house already and a top prospect to keep happy.

you're ignoring the deadweight that's dragging the package's value down, CBJ traded Anderson because they didn't want to pay him, I highly doubt they value him positively now
