Most of the players you listed for the jackets are untouchable.

Danforth, sillinger, and chinakhov are the only ones I can really see being “available” and I’m not sure the sens have anything that the jackets would be willing to trade for those guys.

Feel like it be more of a vet player on D they’d be looking at. Maybe Peeke on Columbus or Timmons from Toronto. Likely a minor thing, definitely not any of Columbus’s core players I’d assume

Why would Ottawa be scouting Columbus’s top prospects and rookies? Is Columbus a buyer and Ottawa a seller?

        1. Each player listed here is a proven NHL player on a good contract with a low cap hit that can be buried when necessary.

        2. Columbus or Toronto would supposedly be the seller and Ottawa would be the buyer.

If you're selling, other teams go and see your players in action during a game.

If you're buying, you're the one that goes and sees players from other teams in action during a game.

        Wrong about scouting as well.
In this situation out of these teams on what planet is TML selling?
OTT is not buying anything right now but tee times for the golf course
If TML has offered a trade to OTT wouldn't the OTT scouts want to come see the players we add to trade as well?
So it is possible OTT scouts are looking at a player CBJ or TML want to trade.
(example if say OTT was to trade Chycrun for Timmins plus more OTT would want to scout Timmins to see what his real value is)

I agree because if TML add more defense Timmins may be to odd man out.
Also if there is a player OTT want to trade they would want to scout CBJ or TML players to ask for in the trade.
Examples only but say OTT wants to move Tarasenko or Chycrun they want to see the real value of some players from TML or CBJ to trade for.

Cool. You listed almost all players who would be considered prospects or rookies for trading purposes who would be packaged to acquire a veteran for a playoff run. Columbus is not in that mode. Why would they be selling Fantilli or Jiricek? Engage brain.

        1. The same planet where TML sold off Sam Lafferty.

        This one.

        2. I don't know who we would want to scout from last night's game, so I took a guess.

If it turns out Ottawa is trading somebody for a player we're scouting, then Pagnotta could have said so.

        He didn't.

        3. Somebody in the thread peppered me with questions and I answered each one.

No need to take it personally.

        1. I'm only listing the players that I would want to go see and ask about if I was scouting for Ottawa.

I'm not even proposing an actual trade here.

        So, calm down.

        2. Maybe Ottawa's scouts went to see someone like Bemstrom or Blankenburg instead.

        I have no idea.

All I know is that 2 of our scouts we're at the game.

Different circumstances and they mainly chose lafferty to have a little wiggle room

Either way not they got almost 4m in space thanks to Klingberg no need to really sell anyone

If those 2 go it would be because someone was offering a Dman like Adam Larsson or something and specifically wanted both

Nick Blankenburg played only 3 games this season prior to last night, but got 21 minutes in TOI.

        Which is strange.

His cap hit is only 825K and he's waiver exempt.

Maybe we went to see Blankenburg and Columbus decided to showcase him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

As I dont think OTT wants to make a divisional rival better going into next season

Gotta be the jackets; just can’t come up with a scenario where Leafs trade with SENs

If you can get assets for a player who's UFA after this season, go for it. The Sens likely aren't in competition with the Leafs this season.

The other thing is that not every trade has to be a present for futures trade. Both the Sens and the Blue Jackets have not been working out - a "hockey trade" makes sense for them.
The Leafs could conceivably be interested in Forsberg too, depending on what "week to week" really means. Enough goalies have played amazing after leaving the Sens......

Blankenburg is playing because Severson and Boqvist are injured and Gudbranson is suspended. Were he not the only defenseman besides Jiricek that is waiver exempt he'd likely have played much more this year though.

The same world where Toronto sold off Sam Lafferty.

        This one.

        Lafferty was a cap causality...

In any case, if Toronto doesn't want to make a trade with Ottawa, maybe Columbus would instead.

Ottawa sent a couple of scouts to watch the Leafs-Jackets game.

I made a list here of the players I would want to go see in that game and then ask about trading for them.

That is what this AGM is about.

Not so much about "buying and selling".

It's most likely going to see if either team had any young player OTT might be interested in when they sell come deadline
