Pretty fair deal. It's about middle of what an acceptable price range for Zadorov would be too me. Ranging from arounda 2 and change to a 3rd.

Although I think it benefits VAN in this particular trade.

Feel CGY, just made the move to make the move. Conroy doesn't seem to be a hard guy to negotiate with, could probably be milking a little more out of these trades.

Without retention, this seems fair IMO.

Careful what you say, last time I posted about trading Liljegren, leaves fans got so mad at me and said he wouldn’t be traded unless McDavid++ was involved lol. (Wasn’t that bad but still overvalued by those certain fans)

I suspect it has to do with the trade request. Calgary was also using LTIR and it's hard to facilitate trades as a seller when you aren't accruing cap space. On top of that Rooney and Pelletier are coming back soon

The fact they wanted ret shows they dont just want to use Klingberg's cap hit on 1 move. As even with 4.15m freed Zadorov with 0 ret would eat that up

Either they want term if there is 0 ret or if they going for rentals want ret involved. Hanafin and Tanev most likely will be ret candidates

He would have worked coupled with a Tanev but alone here it just does not move the needle much

About 1 hour before this traded was posted on Capfriendly, I made a AGM about the Flames.

In it, I predicted Zadorov would be traded to the Canucks for their 2024 3rd.

The difference in value between what the Flames spent on Zadorov, what the Canucks spent on Zadorov and what I proposed in my AGM earlier is extremely negligible.

I hate that the Nucks had to trade another pick away, but this is a great deal, hopefully they can resign him or trade at the deadline for more than they paid. hes an overpaid very good bottom pairing guy- not quite top 4. this would make the bottom 4 (with a healthy Soucy) very big: Zadorov, Soucy, Cole, Myers. thats not bad at all.

Love this move for us. Think flames fans are shaking their head at Conrad with this move and the Toffoli deal. I think the value is fair though.

Leafs want a difference maker not a bottom pair guy they would rather have tanev or hanafin

I would trade him for a top 4 dman and add too he wont become a top 4 guy on a conteneder.

Do they know that Klingberg is out for the season? I thought they were still trying to find out. If Klingberg might be back before the playoffs, taking on Zadorov's cap hit would be risky because they'd have to find a way to clear space for Klingberg when he returns. That wouldn't be as easy for them as it was for Vancouver.
