Wonder if GMs get their ideas from here or not

NHL GM’s use this website but they certainly don’t take ideas from us

I don’t see why a GM would take ideas from us fans, they have Assistant GM’s, scouts, etc for that

And some of them are still awful lol

I think some might take a glimpse about how the fanbase reacts to certain figures/scenarios
Just so it wont look totally against the general belief. (Helps them prepare for critique, hear the opposing arguments)

Do they use capfriendly?

From what I’ve heard ~100% of teams and agents do. It is the primary quick reference for contract or draft details.

Do they go to the forums? The armchair gm section? I’d guess so, to lesser degrees. If this site were about your work, wouldn’t you atleast visit it for entertainment purposes?

Do some of them have burners? Yes, probably. Human beings don’t stop being human beings when they become gms.

It would be much more interesting if a few posted here without disguise. Especially owners, the ones who’s passion sits hidden. The best ways to grow the game are engagement, whether that is sticks in the hands of kids or gms/engaged owners talking to people who like mock trades. It’s so odd to me a person could power through life and amass the wealth to own a sports team then hide behind a gm for all the decisions.

I have heard that some signings have been influenced by this site and Reddit. Wouldn’t be surprised if other things like trades and stuff would be as well. Don’t know how common/rare it would be, I doubt it happens much.

I love how everyone now and then people post in this thread but then the next post doesn't happen for a week lol

They definitely look at the actual salary cap stuff but I highly doubt they'd look at any Armchair GMs

I doubt if the GMs look at the Armchair or trade posts......but from what we see from NHL GMs maybe they should.
