I know he did, and i appreciate him for that, but at the same time, i wouldn't have given him 4x4. TBH i'm not sure what i would have given him, but not that.

Leon Draisaitl makes a league-minimum contract more than Robo and less than Makar and he's second- or third-best in the league now. It's expiring yes, but look at how much value we lauded towards MacKinnon's expiring deal. Mega value.

Draisaitl’s contract is excellent, but Makar has more years left, and is better than Draisaitl. The fact that he’s so adept at controlling the play offensively while also being elite defensively is insane. He’s also young enough that he’s only just entering his prime. Even though MacKinnon has a year left at a steal, and guys like Batherson and Lindholm make under 5, I still think Makar is the most underpaid. He’s one of 3 guys I’d give a max contract to in a heartbeat and Matthews and McDavid both make more.

Draisitl is probably slightly overrated by oilers fans but he is criminally underrated by most other people. He’s probably the 3rd best centre in the league

He's one of the most prominent top-6 wingers in the league with size to boot. Habs definitely gets bang for the buck.
