Steal of a contract, of course Pelech and Pulock, one of the best d pairs in the NHL combine for $12 mil.

MM drafted Comeau so that’s all I’ve got to say about him.

Honestly good price point for what he does. Slight underpay but thats what hometown discounts are for.

Kind of made sense though as while his defensive stats were amazing his offense took a bit of a dive. So better to pounce on him now then wait and he goes on to get 50 points and demand 8mill

It's a good deal for sure for the Isles. But geez it makes the 9.2m Nurse and Jones 9.8m deals look way too high.

I saw dreger report 6.25 but i also saw 5.75. That may have been people getting mixed up between pelech and pulock but im not sure.

Dubas signs Rielly for 6mill thats a steal lul. Holl aint coming back as by the time his deal is up Liligren or Niemela will probs take his spot.

So 6mill combined for Rielly and with that extra 6mill sign some depth thats a good idea.

With Ekholm and Pulock taking less makes you wonder what Rielly is gonna ask for as if Pulock got that Rielly probs gonna get 6-6.5mill x 8yrs.

Edmonton and Chicago should have waited as with these 2 extensions Nurse probs would have got 7mill and Jones 7.5-8mill

I think players in their primes are taking lower AAV to get max term. See McDonagh, Kreider, Landeskog and now Pulock.

Maybe but it's good news for us as Rielly is due and with the Ekholm and Pulock extensions being in the 6mill range could see Rielly extend at 6.5x8yrs which would be a steal. As like everyone else he's also in his prime

Hey how about we recognize the context behind these deals and appreciate that the degree of difficulty is incredibly low and the GM deserves little credit

NHL GMs get so much credit for *checks notes* doing their jobs properly and don't get enough scorn when they make ridiculously obvious mistakes

Also Lou signed the really dumb two year UFA ending deal that put Pulock in that position initially

Pulock was incredibly unlucky last year offensively- he was on pace for 12 goals in 2 of the previous 3 seasons. This year he’s due for some positive regression which could have given him more leverage next offseason. Dom’s model already has Pulocks deal close to 2 million per under market value
