So i've understood v3 as a total restart ... the same as v1 to v2 ... so all rosters would be reset, and buffalo would get the #1 pick, Carolina 2nd, and Montreal 3rd. I'm still hoping that v3 won't be as crazy as v1 or v2 when it comes to all the trading ... the GM game has been full of just trading, trading, and more trading ... trading for players just to trade them away, and guys like Doughty getting traded. Not that that shouldn't be allowed, but just that i'm hoping we see less of that, and i don't believe i'm the only one who wants to see less of that. But if the game has less trading in v3 than in v2(/v1), then if it's kind of like real life, there's a good chance that, even if not quite as much, the standings in v3 would be similar to real life. There would be differences for sure, but rosters wouldn't look completely different, so the draft lottery (in 2019) could go by real life, or maybe each team's chances for v3 would be picked before the real life lottery, and then if the team with the best chances wins in real life, the team with the best chances in the GM game goes 1st, and if the team with the 2nd best chances wins in real life, then the team with the 2nd best chances in the GM game would go 2nd.
It's a little early to look at the 2019 lottery though. IMO the 2018 lottery should go by real life though, because it's pretty much like everything that happens before June 1 (or whatever date it is that v3 is starting) in real life is part of the GM game, because it's used for picking which players and picks belong to each team for v3. Then after that, real life trades wouldn't have anything to do with v3, like v1 and v2. So i'm pretty much saying that this would be just like v1 and v2.
Also, the news and important info thread is not a discussion thread, and IMO only BOE/BOG members should post in it. There has been a ton of v3 discussion there. IMO that discussion can be here instead, thanks.
