Anyone else dreading the impending offseason full of Marner trades that make zero sense?

every offseason, nearly every day the leafs lose a game.

If you would've told me only 1 series would've tied after 4 games at the start of these playoffs, I would've been shocked

I’m not Paul marner I swear. Do not care whether marner is traded or not, sucks or is great, 0 care.

But I want him so very badly to have an absolute banger of a game and shut everybody up.

I like when these chances present themselves.

No Marner trade will make sense - as realistically he’s a 100pt RW who can play defence; but also has struggled in the playoffs.

I believe unless you receive and overpay for Mitch, the Leafs may regret moving him. And you can’t move Nylander or Matthews. Nor Rielly.

Tavares would be ideal, but that’s nearly impossible.

I could see a star swap or a rebuilder overpay for Marner as the ideal situations.

No matter what happens this series TOR plan should be prepare for the future in 2 stages

Now this all changes of course if Marner or JT decide to waive but I would say you address one issue now, do a kind of patch work on another play out 2024-2025 season then in 2025-2026 when JT leaves thats when you go to work

Like for me 2024-2025 should be

1. Improve the Dcore by signing some guys like (pick 2 or 3) Demelo, Roy, Pesce, Montour

2. Look for a JT successor (does not have to give off same production just someone who can play 2c) Wennberg, Stephenson, Monahan, Lindholm, etc.

3. Sign a tandem/backcup for Woll (Brossoit, Stolarz, Talbot, etc.) to a 1 year deal

2025-2026 is when you make other moves like create a balanced forward group and maybe explore the goaltending market if Woll aint it. As with JT's money there will be room for interesting moves

If this is this years VGK u could put Karlsson on the 4th line with Roy on RW

If this is a future VGK then dont sign Stephenson and there's the solution

If this is via trade got to think Theo would have to go the other way thats who Brad would want

The funniest thing can happen though

Remember when the Leafs ended up playing Boston because they lost to Ottawa. Boston ended up having a better goalie than Toronto and it showed... Toronto's stars haven't shown up and Boston takes a commanding 3-1 series lead when Toronto has severe questions in net. Then some young, exciting goaltender gets the call in Game 5, going to Boston with a question surrounding whether an important player will play in Game 5. Everyone has gave up on Toronto at roughly this point in time as well

I feel like its gotten past the point where one or two big games shuts people up, though. They need to win the series with Marner playing great the next three games or else it's going to be "why wasn't he doing this from the start" and "can you trust this Marner to show up next year and risk wasting another season"

What kind of Hockey am I watching between Boston and Toronto? It looks like Boston doesn't want to end the series, and Toronto looks like they don't want to play anymore. This is brutal.

If the canes play like this next round they will get swept

1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for a 5 playoff games run

The jets allowed 14% of the goals they allowed during the entire season in 5 games in round 1.

From the lowest goals against in the entire league to this is really hard to process.

1-8 in their last 9 home games

Have to figure it out... PP is obviously another factor

And Matthews has to come back
