Josh Morissey just went to the dressing room. I don’t know what the injury might be, but hopefully it’s not serious.

Why trade assets for a goalie when you can pick one up off waivers for nothing and turn him into a vezina contender?

Brayden Schenn gets away with a clear interference and scores the OT game winner seconds later…

At least Suter secured us a point but annoying way to lose

I don't think the ref liked the look of it. Seemed a little floppy.
I don't want to call it a dive without a good clear look, but it didn't look like a regular fall from the goal clip.
Still not a legal play by Schenn. You have to call something there.

The refs had already disallowed one Blues goal when they called a "cross check" on a major Canucks flop.

OT goal aside, STL is heating up. Hopefully they turn this momentum into being mini-Oilers, lock themselves into a wildcard slot heading into the all star break. I’d make that wager.

They’re closer to hitting above their weight than they seem. A little nudge and they’re one of the more difficult teams to face night in night out. They’ve been rising to their competition nearly all season. Most of their terrible games against the bottom of the standings.

Stl may not have been blessed with a DeBrincat and a Kane, but it will do its Detroit impression: Handful of different scorers picked from a wide variety every game, increasing scoring later in games, dynamic atoi game to game, goals within one of the first 4 shifts, good 2nd periods on the road, third periods at home: win with depth.

Feb is most fun blues month of season: 2 torontos, 2 edmontons, jets (always good games for years), and wings. Stl historically plays top heavy teams well. Should be an outstanding month for them.

Really hope it's not the conclusion people are likely jumping too, in December it came out he's been having a recurring sickness due to an undisclosed illness, so I'm led to believe it could be that. He looks really skinny right now too, and sorta sickly which could also be because he's a goalie an they burn a lot of fat, but it would make sense if it was because he was sick too.Whatever it is I hope it's not serious.

I don't know what methodology they used, but some stand out.
Anaheim is going to rise quickly.
St Louis and Pittsburgh are going to make aggressive pushes.
Chicago is at least 2 years away from even making the playoffs, so a 5 year window is pretty optimistic.

Those are the biggest outliers, the rest are debatable, imo.

If I were a gambler, I would take the odds on Arizona in the next 5 years. They have lots of cap space to deal with roster holes (defense) but have been guilding a really good squad of depth, grit, and have the goaltending and coaching. They will be playoff contender for a few years learning how to win in the playoffs; then very likely they punch thru in years 4-5. The possibility of them moving during that span and getting renewed fan support could make push them into a new level of motivation.

While I would enjoy seeing them in the finals to broadly display the ridiculousness of a professional sports franchise playing in a 5000 seat venue, I think there's as much opportunity for those distractions to demotivate as there is to motivate the players.
Good luck signing top players if they can't secure where their families will be spending the next 7-8 years of their lives.

The signs are pretty apparent that the NHL will likely move them to Utah next season. The OP was a 5-year look forward; either way (stay in Phoenix or move) they will have an arena during that timeframe (the NHL has mandated a deadline of 1/31 to have a plan in place).

And they don't need "top players", they are basically 1-2 defenseman shy of having contender as their young players develop over that time period.

I know he and his agent want to make it work and all that but man idk if Kuzmenko is made for Vancouver.

It just feels like he needs to be moved for the sake of both sides. Trade him for an upgrade is what I say
