As an Avs fan I'm pleased to not have to shoehorn Newhook into the lineup anymore. Square peg round hole who didn't fit anywhere in the lineup. Colton + 1st is highway robbery for him

I'm happy for Newy, he needed a new team to flex a bit. His skill set is just too same-y to the Avs top 6 to really fit in there

I wish the team had found a way to get Colton without moving Newhook. I feel like he's gonna be a good player for a long time, and their failure to utilize him correctly was a mistake. It is what it is though. Glad to see him start off on the right foot in Montreal.

Neither team does this. Montreal doesn't need Girard or Colton. Newhook and Xhekaj fits their timeline and their organizational needs far better.
