1. Colton eyes Hughes, turns to hit him into boards, and lays hit with shoulder that connects him square in the numbers.
2. Hughes goes head-first into boards, luckily getting an arm out to brace himself.
3. Colton then goes to corner, whiffs on puck then throws up his arms as if to say, "come at me"
4. Meier turned toward him. Colton, still in fit of rage, went straight at Meier.
5. Meier raised his arms to defend himself. Colton still went with a cross-check to head.
6. The Refs had to grab Colton and physically escort him off ice as he was screaming and yelling.

It was one of the most unhinged, undisciplined sequence of events I have ever seen in NHL (made me think of Dale Hunter's shot on Pierre Turgeon).

Colton lost his temper, tried hurting people, and deserved a long suspension.

Don't try to justify it "Luke is soft" or "Colton was defending himself".

Just call it what it is.

I dunno what value binnington has. The goalie market seems super saturated, and binnington recent numbers are not spectacular, although I consider him a true 1A - capable of 60+ games, athletic style, “5-tools” - ie no substantial weakness in positioning, glove, stick, endurance, handling.

I’m guessing just since there’s so many goalie rumors the last 12 months that the blues won’t get a whole lot back if they trade binnington. If somebody wanted to pay up why wouldn’t they grab somebody like saros, hellebyuck, hart, etc.

Blues prob better off keeping him.

Eklund continues to get better. (second time Eklund will play with Hertl and last game I think their corsi for was like 87%)

I’m hoping for a Sharks loss (we gotta race EDM for gods sake for 1st OA)

But my heart is saying Sharks are gonna get the W (and that’ll be fun).

EDM is going to be desperate like SJS was against PHI, and SJS May crash after their first win high lol. But at the same time the atmosphere and culture last game, post game and in the locker did a 180. San Jose either had a one hit wonder in terms of the vibe the team gave off; or their culture has shifted and still being a lottery team aren’t going to be playing like they did in the 20-3 showings.
