Canucks cannot give up an unprotected first for Nylander. And we aren't touching Reilly with a 15 foot poll

Canucks pass. Leafs probably wouldn’t do that deal either

Penguins pass not taking scrap piles for our only defensive prospect (even if he at best is only a top 4 option)

Don't how a 20 man roster "fixes depth". Or trading nine players for five players fixes depth.

I'd rather keep Dube. He's worth more than Jarnkrok and spare parts. I understand that they both had a similar production last year, and that Jarnkrok is locked in at a decent value, but Dube has potential to become a 60P player IMO.

Canes would need a RD back for Pesce, value's there, doesn't address the positional need

That van trade isn't even close to the value of Willie and Rielly. Garland and Boeser combined last year had 14 more points than Willie with a 4.5 million more cap hit. You could plug in a AHL player at league minimum and top the offensive output.

To which part? Yes Nylander is worth more then a first but VAN as a team cannot provide it. And Reilly would be super overpaid as a Canuck

Canes would need that 1st to be the Vancouver pick at least.

You are getting rid of 2 cap dumps and getting two star players. Saying no to this is incredible

We're losing a first round pick as a bubble playoff team and by far the worst contract in this deal would be Reillys

Our offence gets better but Reilly is too much of a cap dump too be worth it. We probably make the playoffs but it wouldn't make us contenders

Rielly is in no way a cap dump. You are making it very clear you hate the Leafs more than you like hockey with these responses. Rielly is a force when it matters and Nylander instantly becomes your 2nd best player and all you lose is a late 1st and a nothing prospect.

Reilly on the Canucks is a cap dump. He's a Dman that can't defend and is only great on the Powerplay. Spoiler alert, he's not getting Powerplay time in Vancouver. Giving 7.5x8 to a Dman like that is horrible.

He is average at defence and is elite offensively. You would rather be a worse team than have a leaf on your team it's nuts

In no world is Morgan Rielly "average" defensively, that's an insane statement. I'd rather not trade a first round pick for a horrible contract long term for a team thats not winning the cup in the next few years.

He is really good offensively, but he wouldn't be getting that role in Vancouver because Quinn Hughes plays that role. Hughes gets the offensive starts, gets PP1, etc etc.

Morgan Reilly is a very good player, but he is the type of player you only need one of. And the Canucks have one. He is just not a fit in any way.
