Now retain 50% on Edmundson and add a 2nd going to LA and they won't hang up on you.

Dadonov no retention seems unlikely. Hoffman is not getting a 2nd i don't believe. Dvorak for a 1st will maybe happen next year or following year, not after the season he's having currently...

wrong team for dadonov, Caps are likely sellers.

also a 4th for him would be too much...even if you guys retain on him, imo

delusional

The only one that is far fetched is the Hoffman deal.
The Avs desperately need center depth. A late 1st is nothing when the center market is soft with Oreilly traded and Toews out for the year now. Dvorak has a great rep around the league as does Edmundson when LA are desperate for a LD. Gavrikov is going for a 1st plus as UFA, Edmundson injuries likely keep that from happening this year but next season you'd have to be delusional to think that type of dman doesnt get a 1st when it happens every TDL

agreed. Dadonov will be very tough to move. This is a last minute move as insurance for a team at best. He wont be traded in all likelihood.

The Habs are better off using their retention elsewhere

MTL over paid to get Dvorak based off potential and it was a bad bet, nobody is giving a 1st for with a 4+M cap hit for a C that has never had a 40 pt season.

All five teams say No. Edmundson is having an awful year and Bergevin knows him too well for the Kings to trade NHL-ready RhD Jordan Spence for him. New Jersey isn't going to trade prime prospect Holtz for a hideously expensive guy they don't need -- when last I looked, the Devils were having a VERY nice season. Dadonov isn't wanted by anyone and Hoffman isn't getting a second without retention when he turns 34 as the new season starts and is owed $5 million. And you're not recouping the first you paid for Dvorak with a first from this draft with the year he's having right now -- Colorado isn't THAT desperate and they can probably find a better, cheaper alternative at a lower acquisition cost.

That’s a great stat Cherry pick but over his career he has seen the following 82 game paces 35, 39, 45, 45, 48. And thankfully GMs are smarter than you and realize that hockeydb doesn’t tell the full story on a player like Dvorak.

That’s not cherry picking that’s just facts about his entire career. He isn’t an offensive play driver, his possession stats are nothing to write home about, is he a solid NHL player sure. But you know if you’re being honest with yourself that a)guys with $4.45M cap hits that are b)not play drivers and c)still have 2 more years left aren’t super appealing yo teams that are up against the cap. Why would COL pay a 1st for a guy that they have 2 versions of him already on their team in Compher and Erod? Answer they aren’t, now you want to retain some money and get his cap hit into the $2M range and you definitely have some buyers.

Yeah, NJ needs to add Luke Hughes and a pick to make that work. Anderson is the GOAT

Dvorak is a lesser version of JG Pageau, who most folks agree is probably overpaid by $1M on his $5M AAV. He averages out as exactly a 40 points/82 GP player for his career, and in the last 3 seasons his defensive GSVA has continually been going down while the quality of his competition also goes down. Dvorak's not productive enough to be a 2C and really hasn't been a strong enough defensive player to anchor a shutdown 3rd line for the past couple years, so what exactly does he bring to the table for his $4.45M AAV?

Im not arguing Josh Anderson when its the same tired narrative here over and over despite every pundit worth a damn stating his high cost. So many here HATE HIM! Its the same song and dance as Chiarot last year that will be pointless to argue with ppl that cant do a simple google search but wont stop at using analytics as gospel

big difference between a 1st from a presidents trophy team and a top prospect from arguably the best pool in the league
