You have the draft picks going the wrong way in that LA trade. Vilardi is currently the Kings leading scorer and looks to be every bit of the 11th overall pick that he was in 2017.

I think LAK would be happy with Joel Edmundson and Jayden Struble. MON would probably have an interest in Jordan Spence or Helge Grans, as well as a more seasoned RHD.

So send your 1st round picks from the next 2 drafts and the Kings might consider trading him. Kings aren't giving him up for an overpaid #6/#7 defenseman that will be a UFA in less than 2 years.

So we're allowed to talk about anyone elses ppg pace? Like the top comment talking about Vilardi's point pace is fine? But as soon as a Canadien fan mentions Monahan's ppg then it's a big deal?

Sounds like a double standard to me.

Yeah drastically overpaid. Alex Edler is your no. 2 LD and your goalies are falling apart 5 games in so I really don't think it's that far fetched

Vilardi isn't 28 years old and on a $7M contract after a team just gave up a 1st round pick to dump him.

I'd take Alex Edler at $750k over Joel Edmundson at $3.5M in a heartbeat.

Also, Petersen is 2-0, so I'm not quite sure how he's "falling apart." He's been as good as he needed to be.

Save percentage in a vacuum means nothing. The Kings are trying a new system with a lot of young players this season, and it's leading to a lot of penalties and defensive lapses. With the exception of one goal against in the Minnesota game, none of the goals were Petersen's fault.

I'm not worried about the Kings goaltending at all. I'm certainly not going to trade away the Kings single best young player to bring in a 3rd pairing defenseman.

Doesn’t sound like a double standard, sounds like MTL fans are obsessed with it. Throw in there are probably more MTL fans on here than anybody else (kudos for that) and it gets old pretty quick, especially considering the guy was a cap dump and hasn’t scored more than 50 since the 18-19 season.

Counter proposal.

The Kings will trade you Sean Walker and Jaret Anderson-Dolan for Cole Caufield, Kaiden Guhle, and a lottery-protected 1st round pick.

Los Angeles wouldn't trade Gabe Vilardi, who's been the Kings' best player since the start of training camp, for Joel Edmundson even up, and the idea that we would trade Sean Durzi for a left-handed forward prospect who isn't as good as at least three of our left-handed forward prospects not on the roster, on which incidentally 12 of the 14 forwards are left-handed, is just silly; the addition of the draft picks strongly suggests that you are either trolling or lack familiarity with the subjects.

-I will keep banging this drum: Joel Edmundson missed 2/3 of last season with injuries. He's out for the first 1/3 of this season with a back injury (those always heal perfectly and never reoccur, right??) GMs are gonna want to see proof of life before giving up a bag of pucks for him, much less a package that includes a pair of young roster players and a 1st rounder. Comparing this to the Chiarot deal is insane - Chiarot got a 1st, a 4th, and a recent 3rd rounder when he was retained down to $1.75M. This is a 1st, a 4th, a 23 year old middle-6 roster player, and a top 4 D. No way.

-Give me more than 4 games of Monahan looking alive before you're flipping him out for a 1st. He started out at 0.5/ppg last season (7-12-19 in 37 GP) before falling off a cliff in the second half (1-3-4 in his last 28 GP). GMs will remember this, along with his recent injury history, and it's going to affect his value. I appreciate that you're at least including another asset with this for Colorado, so the value is closer to reality, but I still say that Monahan probably gets moved for a B-prospect and pick after the 1st round if he stays healthy and somewhat productive.

-A 3rd for Dad fully retained is fine, just make sure they're not on his NTC this time.

-Drouin needs to stick in the lineup before he gets any sort of return, but if he stays healthy and plays more than 3/4 of the game between now and the deadline, I could see a return along these lines.

-Not enough for Meier, I think. Gotta climb the prospect ladder - I can't see the Sharks moving him without getting one slam-dunk prospect that's NHL-ready (not Guhle, but whoever you'd rank right below him - Justin Barron? Filip Mesar?) Another team who wants Meier can easily beat this package, is what I'm saying.
