As for prospects, I think you're right. We can't really afford to move any of our top prospects since we need their ELC deals to get through the Parise/Suter buyouts. I just don't see how we could acquire Hertl (or any rental type player, Miller might work if Vancouver retained half his cap hit since he has another year on his deal) with a top prospect and pick and then re-sign him. We have about $14M in cap space and have to re-sign Fiala, Greenway, Kahkonen, Goligoski, Sturm, Bjugstad/depth forward, another depth forward, and a depth defenseman. Cap is very tight, and the buyout dead money only gets worse after next year.</div></div>
Wild have a stacked prospect pool I would think they have to move one to get a top center. It would have to be someone with term and maybe some retention even. Not many options in free agency. I guess it would be Hertl, kadri, strome.
