That's fair, NSH filed for 2 x 1.35 whereas Trenin filed for 1 x 2.4. NSH gets the 2 years and the AAV is split a little below the midpoint.


I like that for Nashville. Trenin was one of their best players in their series vs COL

Yep, agreed, I edited the post a little, as on second thought it's actually a really good deal for NSH-they get the 2 years, and the AAV is only 33% higher than what they filed for. They won this one. Hope for the Preds' sake that this doesn't damage Trenin's relationship with the organization.

So i was wondering why Miles Wood didn't accept his QO of 3.5m instead of signing for less.

In fact, he never received a QO :

"Club electing for Arbitration in the first window can be made in lieu of a Qualifying Offer [CBA 12.3(a)(ii)]"

Arbitration was elected by the team in his case, so no need a QO

Businesses that give out 300k willy nilly don’t tend to be very successful 🤷‍♂️ Wood’s not a core piece, so there’s no risk of offending him, and if you do then whatever, he’s expendable.

Honestly the VGK GM is so confusing

He gives out good extensions but in terms of player relations, loyalty, using cap space, and FA spending among other things hes terrible. Like I believe VGK have dumped 5 to 7 good players already and they aint even 10 years in the League yet.

Wadell said he might use the 2nd buyout window so probs expect a Gardiner buyout if it costs to much to dump him
