Not sure why you guys are so down on him lol. He has literally all the physical tools you could possibly want. He’s top 3 in individual skill in the draft (I’d put him #2 behind Cooley in this regard), plus he’s massive (but not reliant on physicality, so it’s not even like he’s the type that just runs through guys in junior and won’t be able to do that at the next level, even though 6’4” and 220 very much could dominate physically at the NHL level), plus he’s an excellent skater, plus he has a great shot.. If the team that drafts him manages to turn him into a bust, then every single member of the hockey operations/player development staff should be fired, along with every coach that talked to him that they employ. He’s the total package of raw tools and translatable skills.

If the Leafs were willing to give a 1st for Crouse they woulda done it at the TDL imo. It’s not like their bottom six was so excellent that adding Crouse woulda been unnecessary. I also don’t think he’s worth a 1st, but do think he would do better in a different situation though.

My speculation is mainly based on what Friedman said 3 weeks ago or something where he thinks Dubas will be looking for a top 6 wing with some bite to his game. Crouse to me just makes to much sense rn.
