Imagine what the Canes could have added with $6M at the deadline.

It's starting to become a tired narrative. The Oilers had an incredible team effort led by McDavid. Wasn't just McDavid carrying the team.

no disputing that kk is disappointing in the playoffs but getting kotkaniemi is a long term play. he's 21.

Yeah, the Oilers were carried by Mc AND Drai, not just McDavid

Nah, McDavid is still carrying the team.

Hello Zach Hyman is calling.

That series was like 5-7 stand outs for me imo.

McDavid - obvi
Leon - see prior
Hyman - beast every game
Yamamoto - the kid had a hell of a game/ great series
Kane - goal scoring lead (I think) (you gotta finish, can’t say it’s all Connor or Leon)
Smith - outplayed Markstrom lol
McLeod - every shift was solid in my memory

Congratulations to the Oiler fans on here, WCF is no joke. It’s crazy to think LAK we’re up 3-2 going back to LA.

Come to think of it, why the heck did Edmonton let Larsson walk just to replace him with Ceci for 500k less than what Larsson took

Larsson wanted out if i remember correctly, I'd also argue that the small salary difference helped them, Larsson's making what 4.6 right now

Oh that would make sense. I just think they would’ve been real good with Larsson instead

He signed 4 x 4 which is very reasonable. Sometimes there’s the pressure of who u got traded for. Larsson for Hall and Brannstrom for Stone

Just emptied out my bank account to watch the Rangers go down in flames tomorrow night. I won't be wearing my Devils jersey. I don't wanna be that guy.

Josh Anderson, he's pretty much exactly Tom Wilson, when he decides he wants to, so about a third of the games

And that’s the reason why I wouldn’t target him.

Fair enough, but if you replace McDavid with literally any other player on the planet, the oilers would be screwed and wouldn’t go anywhere. But I see what you mean as in if you just slap McDavid on the coyotes he’s probably not going to be able to carry them any substantial distance.

ive seen the video of the coleman no goal about 50 times. im sure its been talked about a bit in the thread here but how isnt that a goal? thats such a brutal call to make at that juncture in the playoffs. this game was sooooo good. it was just action on action on action. and to kind of have that one call muddy the game is a shame on the sport. no distinct kicking motion. skate never left the ice. think its simply unfortunate timing for coleman skating there. but idk what else hes really supposed to do there. ceci is diving at the post from his left and smith is sliding into him from his right.

note im not a flames or oilers fan. zero stake in this outcome. just think flames should have seen a game 6.

I initially completely agreed. After watching Sportsnet break it down I'm a little more conflicted. But I think it was too close to reverse the call on the ice, and thus should've been a goal. Even the Oilers broadcasters were absolutely flabbergasted-they said outright "Look, we're Oilers fans, so we're thrilled, but if you're a Flames fan, you have to be absolutely livid right now."
