April 26th.

That's the date that settles the fate of DAL and VGK when they face each other.

Winner takes the playoff position.

Hopefully we avoid the dreaded OTL haha.

My Hart Trophy Top 10 Rankings:

1. Auston Matthews
2. Roman Josi
3. Johnny Gaudreau
4. Igor Shesterkin
5. Leon Draisaitl
6. Connor McDavid
7. Kirill Kaprizov
8. Alex Ovechkin
9. Jonathan Huberdeau
10. Cale Makar

-Matthews may need to reach 60G to hold on. I think he'll get there...on the last day.
-For the record, I value Goals much more than Assists. Huberdeau is T-41 in Goals this season. If he had 40+ I'd put him top 4 for sure. I also think Barkov is the most valuable Panther, but he missed 13 games.
-McDavid will almost certainly finish with more votes than Draisaitl. I disagree. McDavid has more points and more flash; Drai has 11 more Goals and is tied w/ Krieder for the NHL lead w/ 11 GWG's.
-Just imagine where NSH would be w/o Josi. He's had one of the best individual seasons by a D in decades. Makar might be having the 2nd best season by a D in that same time frame.
-Ovechkin is playing like he's 10 years younger w/ his first 90 point season since 2009-10. Amazing.
-Carey Price won the Hart in 2014-15 w/ similar numbers to Shesterkin, but won 44 games. Igor has won 36.
-Gaudreau has rocketed up this list recently. His plus/minus of +60 to go along w/ 9 GWG and 85 Even Strength Points is ridiculous.

Matthews for sure got to play Saturday. He looks fine. Keefe gotta stop worrying and play him

Let him get 60 against Bob and worry about the rest later

But that previous game highlighted why he deserves the Hart lul

We can come back to this at the end of next year...idk he is a hell of a lot better than anyone I've seen on defense not named Dahlin and Power on Buffalo, way better.

I mean, that’s not saying much for a team that has been terrible defensively for years. And the underlying numbers say he’s fairly average to slightly below average when compared to other Sabres. Let’s wait until he actually establishes himself as even one of the better defensive guys on the Sabres before comparing him to Norris candidates lmao, especially because his track record hasn’t always been great.

Would Monahan get his name on the cup if Flames went and won the cup? I know you have to play a certain amount of games, but I don't know if he hit it

Think the criteria was half of the regular season games (41) or 1 Stanley Cup final game to get your name on the trophy.

Monahan's played 65 games so yes he'll get that name there, should CGY win.

Caufield scored today. Robertson and Gaudreau didn't.

Caufield > Gaudreau + Robertson

We’ve clinched, we’re almost clinched for second, there no reason to rush matthews back in. I’d rather have him 100% for the playoffs than rush him in to score 60g

Game 1: W 2-1(OT)
Game 2: W 5-3
Game 3: W 6-2
Game 4: L 8-1

I’m not too worried. Every team lays an egg of a game here and there. If this had happened in November nobody would’ve lost their mind. It’s because it’s close to the playoffs.

When you’re playing an inexperienced backup, your MVP is out, and muzzin is out, you’re obviously not going to be as good as full strength

We’ve proven we can beat this team before, this was just an absolute EGG of a game and inexcusable. Gotta be better than that, but I don’t doubt they can get back to that level.

Didnt really miss much besides 92 PIM lul

Feel bad for Kallgren as he really should not have played that game. Tampa was desperate for a win and we knew this was gonna happen.

Should have been Campbell but Keefe pulled a first time Babcock...will let it slide.

But Tampa was desperate for a win and Keefe gave his old buddies a bone. Good old Canadian hospitality am I right

92?! wtf happened for 92 PIM to occur

What is a good Sergachev trade for Tampa? Something where they can get a solid middle 6 guy and a young cheap replacement .

Something like Sergachev and Maroon for Wheeler (50% retained) and Heinola. Obviously this trade isn’t too good for Tampa mainly due to Wheeler’s age. But that type of deal. Some good forward at 3-4 mill and an ELC 3rd pair LD guy who can play PP2

Maybe a team like NJ could do something like that, Stevie Y might be willing to do something like this too

I’d be asking for Sieg and Sharangovich . I think that’s a good trade for Tampa and they get like 1.5 mill in cap relief for next year

That was gonna happen anyways, Russian almost never get drafted high

Edit: The highest-drafted Russians in recent years has been Svech at 2, Provorov at 7 and they we're both CHL players so already established over in NA
