If the first rounder for caufield would be top 10 protected, I feel as though theres a lot of teams that would give a first no protection and a 2nd in 23 for him.

If the Sabres pick is top10 protected,
then MTL is for sure getting either the VGK 1st or the FLA 1st that Buffalo has

Not sure that MTL would wanna do that though- Caufield is still young enough to be part of a “rebuild” there

Vancouver is not interested in Gallagher and Montreal is not going to retain that much of his Salary for 5 years.

Plus, the vegas pick is in the teens now, I expect it to be closer to 30 by the time the season ends. Trading Caulfield for THAT pick would be a disaster, of course, as a Sabres fan, sign me up.

I don’t think they’d trade him

Disagree. A 2nd and Kaut is too high for Chiarot. Downgrade one of those assets and that’s fine.

I think that Montreal calls you insane and keeps Caufield, he's only 20ish, let him develope.

hes not as bad as people make him out to be. over correction to how overrated he was before.

i think he'll fetch a 2nd+ and i can see a fit for him with girard.

He was massively overrated before, he massively sucks now, and considering Girard is out a month that’s not happening anyway. There are very few players who I think are as bad a fit for the Avs as Chiarot.

I’m fine with Chiarot as a player at the right price I guess, but realistically any TDL acquisition for the Avs is for bottom pairing minutes and PK time. There are other players who can fill that role for cheaper than Chiarot if this is actually the price.

girard needs someone with some size. he gets pushed around way to easy.

There are a myriad of options better than Chiarot. And cheaper. He sucks.
