can't see gusev making this leafs team. hasn't been good enough to make a case for the top 6 and useless for the bottom 6.

I would give him more preseason games as lets be real put him with JT and Nylander or KF and MM and he would probs thrive. Instead hes got Kase and Kampf who are good but are not guys he can succeed with.

This squad was not the best to let him showcase what hes got. Next game I would try Gusev-Kerfoot-Nylander or Gusev-Tavares-Ho-Sang

Seems like a good reason to retire to me. He already has a solid nhl career under his belt, and he doesn't want to play in a league that discriminates non-vaccinated players. If I was in his place I'd probably do the same thing.

Well Hamonic didn’t play in the bubble due to Covid so i don’t think it’s because he isn’t vaxed, we also know he only wants to play in the west and has considered retiring before

Personally I dont think they will be as good this year as the previous season. I think everything just clicked last season and this season they will come down to earth. In general their team has to many questionable holes especially in arguably the most important part in building a team (goaltending). While they will be dangerous I see them finishing 4th in the Atlantic unless Bob and Knight really struggle then 5th or 6th

Goaltending is a big question mark, but they have an elite F core and two #1 defenseman

Interesting take. Not sure I agree. The panthers A) aren't being hyped that much and B) were good last season (they almost beat the champion lightning) and added Sam Reinhart this offseason. Not saying they are going to win the Stanley cup or anything like @Kotkaniemi15 but not sure they are overrated.
