Its based on a bold prediction I have.

Prediction: Florida realizes they made a mistake signing Thorton as he becomes a burden and costing them games so they terminate his deal as he does not want to go to the AHL or sit out multiple games. Following this he then proceeds to sign with Tampa and ends up winning the cup as lets be real they be going for the 3x applaud

Or we could say Tampa feels bad for him claims him off waivers and gets him the cup. Tampa plays him every other game rotating him with PEB at 4c

That's a huge W for Minnesota

He is not even close to being worth that money with that term. That contract would make the Marner contract look fantastic.

He could, but at the end of the day it’ll only hurt himself. Chances are that if he takes the contract you suggested that means Fiala will be a UFA by then and would most likely walk because the Wild can’t give him the money he’d want with Kap mega deal and the cap penalty coming in at an all time high. So chances are that he’d be superglued to the 1st round forever, and I don’t think that his reputation will be great if he pulls off that stunt.

And let’s be real going from 9 to 10.5 is a really small difference financially when you’re getting paid that much.

I can’t even think why would Matthews be on the cover? He was there 2 years ago, and he had absolutely no success in the playoffs what so ever. McDavid was there 4 years ago and he just had a monster season, why not him? Or why not someone on Tampa like Vasy or Point who just won the cup 2 times in a row?

Tbh Blake Comeau would’ve made more sense because he won more playoff rounds last year then the Maple Leafs have since the lockout.

That’s about it. F*cking Travis Dermott probably has a higher chance on being on the cover than McDavid.

They should base it off of who had a terrific season not who’s more popular. Example you won’t put Jake Paul on a boxing cover before someone like Canelo because he’s more popular.

Matthews would’ve been a great choice, if he wasn’t on it like literally 2 years ago.

There was so many options but they went with Matthews again

Don't get me wrong, Matthews is a great player and it's smart to put the best player on the most popular team on the cover, but there are guys who deserved it more than putting Matthews again
