Yeah back them Montreal scouting was real embarrassing. But Bergeron wasn’t even on the radar in 2003. If i am not mistaken 2 year prior he was playing in midget B in Québec. Bergeron wasn’t even on the Nhl Prospect list in January that year. The Bruins really took everyone be surprise with that pick

As i have said numerous times, there is a huge difference between hindsight and foresight.

Foresight would have told the bruins to take Barzal (who was originally projected to go top 10, and dropped to 15 because of injury) instead of senyshyn (who was a second rounder at best). Bruins had already picked debrusk, and had no reason to take another sniper or a dman.

HOWEVER: Hindsight says to take boeser, the bruins needed D prospects so Zboril was the best possible pick (chabot was ranked right after him, so it was a tossup and the bruins chose zboril).

I did something similar last season (I even reverse the Seguin/Hamilton/Thornton/Wheeler trades) and it seemed some Bruins fans weren't thrilled with it but at least they weren't as touchy as this one.

Looking back Boston did good in the 2015 NHL Draft in terms of filling needs, getting a big defenceman, the best sniping winger in DeBrusk and Senyshen who can still become good. I agree seems unrealistic because they'd take someone like Hanifin because Boeser and Barzal are gone in the top 10

Both Boston and Edmonton had the opportunity to build a dynasty out of the 2015 draft. Both laid eggs, although for different reasons: Edmonton traded 2 of their 3 best picks and Boston went walkabout with theirs. Either of these teams - and possibly both - could have rates among the best ever had they played their cards right.
