Quite different from that absolute flawless roster about to head into playoffs. Orlov-McAvoy is a thing of beauty, Tarasenko and Kane will scare defensive pairings of the league.

I'm so excited we kept Greig, in fact losing picks to contend is solid. Sens make a playoff run. Deadly Young D corps. You face Chabot-Chychrun or Sanderson-Zub

A defensive heavy hitter defenceman and a decent heavy weight winger. Too much to give for any other team, but with all the skill the Leafs have on wing, center and D, this is legendary haul for a potential Bruins or Tampa series. Leafs look to build a culture of winning in playoffs

Need for Top D over Offence
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>Ottawa isn't trading Norris ever, and New York isn't trading Dobson ever.
Cizikas makes no sense for Ottawa, he's not more valuable than Kastelic, but he's way more expensive.
Zub will get at least 4.5. The Sens have had a rough start but there's no chance they end up with Bedard.
At worst, they finish 22nd.</div></div>
With Pinto looking like a Calder finisher, Stutzle and Pinto have emerged as the clear 1-2 centers for the team and Norris is also another elite center. That has Oilers with 3 top centers and DeBrincat, Giroux, Batherson, Tkachuk, Motte, Joseph, Formenton, Greig, Boucher for wing. Left Defence is perfect with Chabot and Sanderson as the 1-2 but right Defence has nothing special and can't contend with the top teams of the league. Where do they make the change to address the issue without creating a hole somewhere else in the roster? I agree with Norris being pretty elite but 3 centers was the reason I placed him on that trade.

Escrow Paid off - salary cap increase and Kane comes to buff cuz its fun here
Wow what a roster, quietly designed a contender roster, Kane and Quinn goal scorer and play maker centred by elite Cozens. Tuch Thompson deadly duo, Peterka Krebs Savoie the young kid line, Mittelsdat is skilled 4C with Vinny, Dahlin the generational defenceman goal scorer and skilled, Power the franchise defenceman, Martinez Joki pairing for bottom. Get a goalie and compete

Oilers Stanley Cup Game 6 Playoffs Roster 2023
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chabotrrorr</b></div><div>*cough* *cough* *His defensive game and Edmonton’s cap situation* *cough*
What I’m saying is this:
Take the example of the Kulikov trade. A top 4 D-man at only 2.25M is a steal, right? That’s worth at least a 4th round pick, if not a 3rd. But because of Minnesota’s cap situation, they got nothing in return.
Look also at the Monahan trade. Calgary was tight on cap, Monahan is a middle six centreman that has had 1/2 a point a game the last 3 years. Before those 3 years, he had over 1.00 points per game per year, and he has the potential to get back to that tenure. At 6.35M, you wouldn’t think it would be a cap dump to a team like Montreal that isn’t contending, right? It should end at least at Future Considerations if not Calgary getting a low pick. But, because of Calgary’s cap situation, Montreal took advantage of that and squeezed a 1st round pick out of them.
Point being, cap is worth a LOT now, in the current NHL, so a 4.5M number 4 D with offensive upside is going to cost you at least a 4th round pick to dump, especially with Edmonton’s horrible cap situation, if not more.</div></div>
There is a positional bias here, offensive Right handed D man that is a Special teams darling. PP unit #1 Right handed, the market is still there especially with how much top D men that produce less than Barrie get paid

A high scoring Right handed D man at less than 5 mill can't be a dump with a top 10 point production amongst D man for recent memory

The Scheifelen plan
Helly gets back in form and they have a vezina caliber goalie, Morrisey-Pionk represents a classical franchise D pair, Dillon, DeMelo, Samberg, Schmidt, Stanley provide nice depth on paper. Connor-Schieffle-Wheeler is the most underrated line in hockey with consistent 40+ goal scorer, and Wheeler the best assists player Jets can dream of. Dubois in his playoff style with Columbus against Leafs will make him a top 2nd line center, with 30 goal scorer Ehlers and Perfetti the young maestro, Lowry is big and the bottom 6 will work

Small Sample size vs large but look at the similarities:
Pinto 6'2" 192 lbs, Bergeron 6'1" 196lbs
Bergeron 1.05pts/game in QMJHL before NHL, Pinto 1.14pts/game in NCAA College Hockey
Pinto 0.58pts/game NHL first season, Bergeron 0.55PTS/Game NHL first season
Pinto Drafted #32 and Bergeron drafted #45

Makar is a generational talent, Draisaitl can be the face of a franchise. If Draisaitl continues his growth and turns Matthews-like while maintaining his two way games, stronger edge work and faster skating This could be a fair trade. Right now it's not good for a 1 for 1

That is alright versus Patrick Kane messing up the chemistry and making everyone worse or not scoring if he joined the Oilers. Getting a star is costly and many times the player isn't healthy for the entirety of the playoffs. It's be embarrassing is Kane is acquired and Oilers exit 1st round in a short playoff movie

Handedness isn't as important if the pairing has chemistry. Kulak - Soucy can do both RD-LD with one being offence orientated and Soucy the Defensive player. Broberg can do full time RD as well. Another play is:
Nurse-Ceci
Kulak-Bouchard
Soucy-Broberg
