Matvei Gridin-AD182 de 2

L3
Sturdy / Strong forward who plays a calculating game. There are moments in games he appears to go through the motions .. .but his read / react / execute is generally very good. Quick release. Has proven he can beat goalies in the USHL from distance with a quick snap shot. Bulk of his ice time comes at ES and PP. Sound hockey IQ. Has the skill, and ability to penalty kill if required. Most projectable element is his offense. Falls somewhere between a 2F / 3F as an NHL prospect.22 mars 202427 mars 2024
Sacha Boisvert-C182 de 2
A-
L2
Boisvert continues to play to his offensive identity. Remains one of, if not the, top NHL draft prospect playing in the USHL Leans goal scorer more than playmaker ... but he's become more creative off the rush as the season rolled along. Great stick in small areas. Makes plays close to his body. Elusive coming off the wall and around the crease. Averages over 18:00 per game TOI playing in Muskegon. Bulk of his TOI comes at ES and PP Solid stride. Tall and lean at this stage of his development. Loads of room for more weight and strength. Second line NHL forward on projection. Element is offense.22 mars 202427 mars 2024
Maxim Massé-AD172 de 2
A-
L2
Masse ended the regular season producing 36G-39A 13 goals came on the power-play. Masse was credited with 7 game winning goals. Good size. Average skater in open ice. Best work comes from hash marks down in the offensive zone. Rips pucks from the weak side flank on the PP. Also capable of producing from the bumper position and setting up around the crease looking for tips and rebounds. Almost all of his ice time comes at ES and PP #1. Leans shooter more than playmaker but his ability to leverage in the hard areas and extend plays leads to assists. Compliments quicker / faster / equally skilled linemates with his approach. Fantastic puck touch.22 mars 202427 mars 2024
Jett Luchanko-AD171 de 3
A-
L2
Luchanko brings more than just offense. He's a player that can be relied upon in a variety of roles. Deployed in all situations for the Guelph Storm. Listed as a winger but he plays the majority of his shifts in the middle. On the PP he slots into a role as a PP QB / Distributor / Shooter / Playmaker on the point and leads the breakout. Leans distributor more than shooter ... has an understated / deceptive release and the ability to change the angle of his blade to direct pucks on net. Competes the entire 200ft. Sturdy strong. Not punishing physically but also not easy to knock off the play. Very good skater. Trending up. Young for this draft class.23 mars 202427 mars 2024
Adam Jecho-C172 de 3
A-
L2
Jecho ended the year in Edmonton, with the Oil Kings, scoring 10G-7A in his last 20GP. Overall he produced 23G-24A on the year. On the rise. Big body. Skating has improved. A threat, when up to speed, off the rush. Solid edges. Primary ice time comes at ES and PP but he's capable on the PK. On the PP - makes plays from the flank and working high to low - good puck touch On the PK his long reach is an asset, as is his large frame getting in shooting lanes Despite his stature he isn't overly physical. He boxes out opponents but doesn't punish people physically. Potential second line upside in time. Might end up as a combination 2F/ 3F at the NHL level.23 mars 202427 mars 2024
Tanner Howe-AG182 de 2
A-
L2
Howe ends the season in Regina with 28G-49A in 68GP His average TOI hovered around 20 minutes per game / deployed in all situations. Works the weak side flank on the PP. Quick catch and release / moving pucks or directing them on net. Understated one-timer. Mid-size forward with offensive upside to possibly plain out as a second line forward. Solid skater. Good quickness out of the gate and open ice pace to push opponents back. Generally aware defensively. Recognizes his responsibilities at ES and PK. Stats were solid considering Regina was a rebuilding outfit in 23/2423 mars 202427 mars 2024
Marek Vanacker-AG171 de 2
A-
L2
Vanacker is a prospect who has come on over the course of the entire year. He's riding momentum heading towards the entry draft. On the rise. Long and lean. Appears taller than his list size. Skilled. Equal parts shooter / scorer / distributor Ended the regular season in Brantford with 36G-46A In his final 20 game segment he produced 10G-15A - with 10 of his assists being primary assists Threat off the rush. Protects pucks coming off the wall. Goes to the net looking for tips. Quick handles in traffic. Average / average plus defensively. He's aware and understands his responsibility but could engage more aggressively at times. Offense wins out. Trending second line NHL upside.23 mars 202427 mars 2024
Cole Beaudoin-AD172 de 4
A-
L2
Beaudoin produced 28G -34A for the Barrie Colts in the regular season. He ended up (+2) defensively and averaged between 18-23 minutes per game TOI - deployed in all situations Power body - Solid skater in open ice - up to speed he attacks off the rush with good pace and uses his large frame to drive to the net. When he gets the edge he's hard to defend heading to the paint. Leans shooter / finisher more than natural distributor / playmaker. Rotates well on the PK - gets in the shooting lane - body positioning ranges but he's in the area and in the way Compliments a darting center - goes to the hard areas - finishes 23 mars 202427 mars 2024
James StefanLogo de Oilers d'EdmontonAD201 de 1
A-
RL
Stefan signed a three-year entry level contract with the Edmonton Oilers on March 21st / 2024 He's an undrafted free agent who's playing in Portland (WHL) Stefan has had a very productive junior career. He's been a prolific scorer the last three seasons. Stefan's primary ice time comes at ES and PP. He has excellent vision in the offensive zone and thrives in open space. His ability to find 'quiet ice' speaks to his hockey sense and ability to read/react to how plays are developing. Minor league / recall / scorer to start. Has to play, at worst, in middle-six forward group to allow his element to have impact. Not a checking style forward. Solid skater. Can play quick and fast but tends to pick his spots on occasion. Element is offense. Relatively light in traffic. Picks opponents apart from the flank and middle of the ice on the PP.22 mars 202423 mars 2024
Tomas SuchanekLogo de Ducks d'AnaheimG201 de 1

#3
Anaheim signed Suchanek to an NHL contract extension on March 24th / 2024 Suchanek isn't the prettiest goalie to watch in the crease. He can sometimes be a bit unorthodox with this style of play. Crease composure, overall, ranges. Tends to scramble more than most goalies. Rebound control is extremely important. When pucks bound off him he is forced to make stops that can expose his smaller net stature. Overall solid year, in 23/24, at the AHL level with San Diego - 2.56 GAA / .919 save % Athletic. Competitive. Works. Never quits on a puck.22 mars 202423 mars 2024
Theo LindsteinLogo de Blues de St-LouisDD194 de 4
A-
P1
St. Louis signed Lindstein to his entry level contract. He was the Blues 1st round pick (29th) in 2023. Excellent skater. Agile. Walks the offensive blue line to create shooting lanes or distribute to either flank. Used in all situations at every level. Elite hockey sense. Plus vision moving pucks and defending in his zone. Always aware of how plays are developing. Jumps to take away time and space in his zone. Not physically imposing - but involved. Leans complete player who could be a top pairing NHL 'D' At the WJC he scored 2G-6A in 7GP for Team Sweden. 2-way 'D' - trustworthy1 mars 202423 mars 2024
Justin HryckowianLogo de Stars de DallasC231 de 1
A-
L4
Hryckowian has signed a 2-year entry level contract with the Dallas Stars. He's one of the top face-off centers in the NCAA Captain at Northeastern. Led by example. Stocky strong. Around the play every shift. Leverages very well around the crease and along the boards. Not a pure burner in open ice. Fine in straight lines but room to improve edges / agility. His willingness to battle leads to goals for via tips and rebounds. Fronts the shooter in the defensive zone on the PK. Positions his stick very well to take away lanes. Plus hockey sense. A 'do it all' kind of prospect who can be thrust into a variety of roles and trusted to compete at his highest level.16 mars 202423 mars 2024
Drew BavaroLogo de Bruins de BostonDD231 de 1
A-
LM
Bavaro has signed a one-year entry level contract with the Boston Bruins. He's a big, right-shot, defenceman who was used in all situations at the college level with Notre Dame. In 35GP (23/24 season) he produced 10G-10A. It was a breakout year for him offensively. He logged over 20 minutes per game. Bavaro handles the puck well. He distributes responsibly, and joins the rush as an extra layer offensively on occasion. Defensively he displays sound 'spatial awareness'. In order to find a role at the NHL level he will have to react / jump to space quicker on the perimeter to kill plays - especially on the PK. Leans 2-way 'D' who has the size, sense, and compete for an NHL bottom pairing / recall role in time.9 mars 202423 mars 2024
Landon SlaggertLogo de Blackhawks de ChicagoC212 de 2
A-
L4
Slaggert is best described as a 'utility' prospect who can be used in a variety of roles. He scored 20G-11A at Notre Dame in 23/24 - deployed in all situations. Drafted by Chicago in the 3rd round (79th) in 2020. 2-way forward. Solid skater. Thinks the game responsibly. Doesn't cut corners defensively. Not overly physical but willing to go to the crease areas looking for pucks in the offensive zone. Leans depth NHL / checker who might pitch in with some offense on occasion but it won't be his primary element.9 mars 202423 mars 2024
Christian FeltonLogo de Canucks de VancouverDD231 de 1
A-
LM
Felton has signed a one-year entry level contract with the Vancouver Canucks. He was part of the leadership group at the college level / Merrimack and used in all situations. Sturdy / Strong and quick to take away time and space defensively. Bodies up effectively down low in his zone. He's not the biggest, or strongest, defenceman but he's plenty competitive. Surprisingly low offensive stats considering how he reads/reacts to plays in the offensive zone. Has shown ability to pinch down to extend plays and work give and goes from high in the offensive zone. Sees the ice. Fronts opponents on the PK. Willing to block shots. Doesn't possess an elite element for the NHL game - but his compete, pace, and hockey sense gives him a chance to develop into a potential organizational depth player. 2-way 'D'3 févr. 202423 mars 2024
Hunter BrzustewiczLogo de Flames de CalgaryDD195 de 5
A-
P3
Hunter earned his contract with Calgary, after his rights were traded from Vancouver to Calgary in the Elias Lindholm trade. In his last 133 GP at the junior level he has produced 19G-128A - 147pts He's a (+40) defensively. Continues to be deployed in all situations at the junior level with the Kitchener Rangers. Quarterbacks the PP. Sees time in overtime skating at 3vs3. Leans distributor more than shooter. Proficient working the 'low to high' cycle in the offensive zone and making plays. Defending is average plus. Has to continue to work on his quickness fronting opponents and keeping them to the perimeter off the rush and along the wall. Projects as a potential bottom pairing 'D' at even strength ... but a player who could find a role on one of the PP units for the Flames in time.22 mars 202423 mars 2024
Rasmus KumpulainenLogo de Wild du MinnesotaAG182 de 2
B+
L3
Kumpulainen earned his entry-level contract with Minnesota by improving his game in several categories as his year progressed in 23/24. Big body. Long. Rangy. Used in all situations at the junior level in Oshawa. Equal parts goal scorer / distributor. Extends plays along the wall with his stature. Skating has improved. His stride is fine but there is still room for another level of explosiveness and separation. Represented Finland at the World Juniors and scored 2 goals in 7GP. Drafted in the 2nd round (53rd) in 2023. Needs more time ... but tracking in a positive direction. Has the brain to be used in a variety of roles if required.22 mars 202423 mars 2024
Cam ThiesingLogo de Islanders de New YorkAD221 de 1
B+
RL
Thiesing signed with the NYI at the end of his 23/24 season at Ohio State His contract is a 2-year entry level deal. In 31GP he produced 9G-7A and was a (-9) defensively for the Buckeyes Somewhat surprising to see his goal scoring stats weren't higher when considering his quick stick / release in the offensive zone. When pucks arrive on his stick in high danger areas they are on and off very effectively and usually lead to positive results. Used is all situations at OSU. Primary ice at ES and PP#1. Quick out of the blocks. Has the 'darting quickness' to arrive ahead of opponents in small areas. Doesn't always play fast, however, and his off the puck attention defensively will have to improve to have a chance at being an NHL player. A bit of an 'enigma' who looks capable of going to another level offensively.9 mars 202423 mars 2024
Connor UngarLogo de Oilers d'EdmontonG221 de 1

Ungar had a fantastic season for the Brock Badgers at the Canadian University Hockey level. He has experience at the Major Junior level from his time in the WHL with Moose Jaw and Red Deer. Updated list size is 6'2 196lbs. 26GP in 23/24 - 2.15 GAA - .932 save percentage In playoffs he posted a 2.33 / .928% Plus size in the net. Solid crease composure. Rarely tracks too far side to side. Focused. Battles in traffic. Average plus lateral quickness. Plays a butterfly / hybrid style. Rebound control ranges at times. Could absorb more pucks from distance. Overall - has a chance to build momentum at the minor league level to start and has shown considerable growth in his game year over year. 2-year entry level contract from the Oilers.9 mars 202423 mars 2024
Jaroslav ChmelarLogo de Rangers de New YorkAD201 de 1

RL
A young college prospect who has signed with the NYR. The Rangers drafted Chmelar in the 4th round (144th) in 2021 Big body. Long reach. Has the ability to 'pick pocket' opponents and create turnovers with his length. Occasionally pounces on lose pucks around the crease. When time and space allows he has a quick release - especially from between the hash marks in the offensive zone. On the PP his stature creates issues for opponents when he gets in the 'eyes' of goaltenders setting screens. Average plus skater. Room for much more explosiveness out of the gate. Needs time to define himself overall. Leans 13F / Recall forward to start - with potential to provide some depth scoring. 16 mars 202423 mars 2024
Luke KrysLogo de Stars de DallasDD231 de 1

He had a productive year at Providence college in 23/24 - producing 6G-11A in 35GP He was a (+2) defensively and was deployed in all situations. Plus distributor on the PP. Sees the ice. Passes the puck hard and accurately. Has the skating ability to lead the PP breakout. Directs pucks on net, from range, quickly and effectively. Has the legs and vision to join the rush as an extra layer offensively. Generally aware defensively. Room for more 'active' jump to take away time and space on the penalty kill. Good size - rangy - closes on opponents along the wall. Potential 2-way 'D' at the NHL level. Third pairing to start.16 mars 202423 mars 2024

Due to his age he has signed a one-year entry level deal that begins in 24/25. Used in all situations at the college level. Primary ice at ES and PP#1. High end compete. Pursues to create turnovers. Bodies up in the hard areas. Hunts pucks around the crease. Active on the PK pressuring and taking away time and space. Regroups well. Sound hockey sense. Identifies responsibilities. Best described as 'quick out of the gate' but not necessarily an open ice burner in transition. One of the more competitive graduating college players in 23/24. Can be used in a variety of roles. Leans goal scorer more than playmaker. Quick stick in tight quarters / plus release. NHL 4th line / Maybe 3rd line is possible - secondary scorer16 mars 202423 mars 2024

Most recent five game segment (February 20 - 29th) resulted in an average TOI that ranged from 13:00 - 18:46 Continues to be deployed in all situations - secondary PP and PK Offense comes in streaks - 5G - 3A in last fifteen games High end of average skater. Reliable three zone detail. Not an elite play driver but finds a way to get pucks to the net. Likely to always provide secondary offense, but production has been slow to arrive (consistently) in his young career. Struggling to return to same form he had in 21/22 season. Not overly physical. Credited with 36 hits / 27 shot blocks through 56GP Cap hit = $925K Pending RFA Generally wins over 50% of his draws.27 févr. 20242 mars 2024

Holl is having a hard time finding a roll in Detroit He's been a healthy scratch - recently - for nine straight games. Polarizing player who's impact and detail ranges wildly at times. Doesn't produce much offense Big body. Hasn't been playing with enough physical push back / engagement. In his last five game segment he was only credited with 9 hits and 2 shot blocks. When he does dress, his TOI has been trending down - averaging between 13 - 17 minutes - deployed at even strength only. Signed through 25/26. AAV = 3.4M. Contract includes 10 team no trade list. 27 févr. 20242 mars 2024

Has only played five games since December 27th. Mixed results overall ... but last two games (Feb 17 / 25th) were both solid starts ... two wins ... one via shutout vs Calgary ... stopped 72 of 74 shots he faced Veteran back-up at this stage of his career Butterfly style. Mid-range athleticism. There are times he makes himself 'small' when fronting the shooter and dropping / leans forward or sits 'down' in the butterfly - exposes room over his shoulders. Still has enough game to steal some points for his team on occasion. Expiring contract. Pending UFA. 35 years old. Cap hit = $1.5M - Contract armed with 7 team no trade clause.27 févr. 20242 mars 2024

NOTE: Updated height and weight = 6'3 1/4 200lbs Ty has to be watched closely to be appreciated. He does a lot of subtle things very well. Small area plays that contribute to defensive zone exits, killing plays when gapping up and fronting shooters to block shots. Good size. Plenty strong. Pushes back in the hard areas. Solid skater - especially on straight lines - up and down the ice. Good edges. Pivots and generally maintains his pace. There are times, occasionally, that Ty could push harder out of the blocks - exiting offensive zone from a dead stop / skating backwards ... and jumping from net front / corner to position himself quicker defensively. Despite the fact he doesn't produce a lot of offense, he is capable with the puck. Ty can move the play from his zone / launch the attack via outlets. When things break down he chips pucks to neutral ice. On occasion he walks the offensive blue line and directs pucks on net from range ... looks capable of doing it more often in fact. Hockey sense / skating / compete are all in place. Leans 'Defensive D' but could trend 2-way / Defensive D as he matures25 févr. 20241 mars 2024

A big body who takes up a ton of net when playing with poise and not wandering outside the posts. Hybrid / Butterfly style. Athletic. Agile. Above average gloves. Good push laterally. Plenty strong and quick enough to move side to side and use his size to his advantage to make desperation stops. Rebound control has ranged at times this season. When the play in front of him is organized, he tends to absorb pucks and find shots through traffic more effectively. Pending UFA on an expiring contract that counts $4.5M against the the salary cap. When in the mood he can produce offense on the power-play. Has the ability to rip pucks from the weak side flank. Three zone detail ranges. Not the kind of player who can be trusted in key defensive scenarios. If a team were interested in him at the trade deadline they would be hoping he can provide some depth offense and improve their fortunes with the man advantage. Grushnikov is in the midst of his first year as a pro. With the Texas Stars he was averaging around 16:30 TOI per game. The bulk of his ice time came at ES and PK. Solid skater. Agile. Pivots well to track pucks that end up chipped deep in his zone / efficient keeping his pace turning from frontward to backward skating. 2-way 'D' who takes very little risk offensively. Rarely pinches down to extend plays in the offensive zone. Prefers to keep the play in front of him in all three zones. Reliable defensively. Identifies his responsibility at ES / locks onto his man in d-zone coverage Fronts the play on the PK. Occasionally blocks shots. A low-risk defensive prospect who skates well, competes, and rarely takes chances. Better than average push back physically. List size updated - 6'1 205lbs24 févr. 202428 févr. 2024

Bobrovsky ran hot in playoffs, last spring, for the Panthers and he's continued his stellar play in to this season. Through 42GP he posted a 2.36 GAA and .916 save percentage. Athletic. Great feet. Quick moving side to side. Can be a bit 'busy' in the crease at times but he's doing a nice job of fronting shooters and taking away net. His game, in its current form, has rarely given up poor goals against this season overall. Securely in the discussion for another Vezina trophy. Heavy workload. Continues to provide the Jets with the kind of goaltending that can lead teams to successful runs come playoffs. In his first 41GP he's posted a 2.19 GAA and a .925 save percentage - both statistics are best in the league for goalies who have played over 35 games. Gives the group a chance to win tight checking, low scoring games. Big in the net. Relies on sound positioning. Squares up. Doesn't give the shooter much to look at. Confident. Poised. No concerning holes in his game overall.19 févr. 202424 févr. 2024
