Here's what I think is happening with Marchessault today/tomorrow: Vegas wants him at his usual 5M cap hit, so they can re-sign Dorofeyev and bring in a 13th forward and backup goalie for league minimum. He'll probably do 6Mx4, but if that's the case, they'll need to move a dman out. It probably won't be the ones people suspect. If Marchessault is willing to come down to 5.4Mx4, they need to get extra creative with the cap (ie Lyon at 50%) or be prepared to lose Dorofeyev to an offer sheet.

If they keep dicking around I think he'll sign with the Leafs or Habs and they'll go for Stamkos 5Mx3.
