That not how trade work. If there a Zegras trade and Verbeek get is price there definitely be a salary going back involved. So that would be a cap dump. I’ll explain this in a simple way. Cap dump is not a players who is overpaid. Cap dump is a team that need to get under the cap that pay someone to take salary. That not the case here since there salary going to Mtl. But Brisebois still traded for him a couple year ago. So don’t act like there no interest because history show ohter wise. Savard isn’t a Norris winner but he is a pk specialist and is the ultimate competitor. Will sacrifice is entire body just to win. That something that bring so much bond in a locker room.

That was 3 years ago if TB thought he was worth close to what he got he'd be wearing a blue and white lightning bolt. TB isn't lacking for chemistry in a locker room wayyyyyy to many guys with multiple rings to worry about that.

Cam Fowler, Jackson LaCombe, Pavel Mintyukov, Olen Zellweger, plus others in the pipeline -- as nice a prospect as he is, Jordan Harris is redundant and unappealing to us because he's a LhD, and Dvorak is little more than a cap dump. I don't think that Zegras is on the market at all, because his trade value at this point (in the middle of a season in which he will play fewer than 40 games without injury) is the lowest it will ever be, but IF we wanted to move him, it would take a major valuable asset like Reinbacher or your 2024 first (once the final draft order is known).

3 years ago, team was also in a different position than they are now. If we had the room we would have retained his services, but we just simply don't have the room for him. Plus with some of the coaching changed and a new system I don't think Savard would necessarily be the guy they go after.

Agree that Huuhtanen would not be in play. I saw him play a couple game and he look like a stud. Great scouting job by the Lightning.

In order to move Zegras, there needs to be a wow piece. That wow piece is Reinbacher.

Reinbacher and MTLs 25 2nd is the starting point, and taking Dvorak the other way will add cost because his real money owed is significantly above his cap hit, and that's a poison pill for a small market team.

You said please no comments like « quality over quantity » but that is honestly constructive criticism. Zegras is young and a proven scorer and here you’ve offered 3 pieces that hold value but not nearly enough(Dvorak at this point holds little to no value). If we want Zegras it’s gonna cost a piece that really hurts and let’s be honest losing any of these pieces wouldn’t hurt more than removing a bandaid especially if a young top 6 player is the return.

Well being constructive but still saying it's not enough quality there. If Zegras is moved, and that's a big if, it's going to be in a similar move as Drysdale. A move where they actually upgrade their team and only make it substantially worse. It would have to be something like Jiricek, if he actually wanted out, or Leonard in Washington if they try to push again. There is no reason to trade him for a bunch of lottery tickets.

MTL fans, please tell your friends. Small pieces won’t buy Z. Here are the base pieces needed to talk trade for Z. And note, if this isn’t of interest, that’s okay!! We do not want to trade him

Option 2: Slafkovsky
Option 3: MTL ‘24 1st + Beck/Mesar/Roy tier

All 3 may need some tinkering with other smaller pieces one way or the other, but if the trade doesn’t look like any of those three, we will very happily continue buying Zegras threads in ANA

Canes already have 3 healthy goalies, with a 4th likely to be back around March. Allen isn’t enough of an upgrade for the Canes to even consider paying for. Besides, the Canes goaltending has significantly improved from the seasons start.
