And we shouldn't be trading Robertson unless we get a star dmen back. Even then, I would look at moving other pieces before Robertson. I love his heart.

It was tried for a time but it's not very effective. Rants simply isn't a C as much as I'd like him to be. That would majorly solve some of the Avs problems! But even if this were the case I wouldn't make that trade for Tarasenko.

Idk... I'm on the fence with that CHI trade. I am not opposed to moving any of those pieces, necessarily, and I'm sure that is a fine price for Norris. But I'm just not sure what Norris gives us that we need NOW and can't wait for the rebuild to pan out. If CHI is looking at centers, I'd rather just get them through the draft, and when we are closer to contending, maybe then looking outward for ways to improve the roster and holes we might need to fill. We might already have our Norris in our prospect pool.

I concur with all of this, Garak... Excellent post, IMO. It might be good value for Norris; but, just too soon. We've had a LOT of good picks in the last two years - with more to come. It's painful to be so bad right now, but let's let things play out for now.

I tend to disagree friend. If Hamonic is NHL capable, it's a good trade for the Leafs,and Hamonic is signed cheap for next season too.
