<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>I get it. But, imagine what a hard working 2-way 40 point rental retained even further at a $1.25M cap hit could fetch at next years deadline. I'm not necessarily saying CHI shouldn't be asking for that 4th to be going the other way, but man... if he were to have a decent and healthy season in CHI, that could possibly mean more valuable assets for the rebuild. I don't hate it.

BUT, I also don't get what exactly is in it for PIT if they aren't moving the full cap hit. They are gonna need every bit of cap space they can get, if they want to make REAL additions and ice a contender next year. If not, what is the point of moving anyone? This might just be my opinion, but PIT is either trying to contend or they aren't, they'll need to pick a lane and go all in. Otherwise they are just doing things for the optics and PR.</div></div>

I hear you &amp; I’m not saying it is completely out of the realm of possibilities. However the rationale of grab this guy &amp; flip him later for more is used to excess on this site . Ultimately for it to work you have to give the player enough ice time to be able to hit the desired levels. This limits the amount of ice time the team has to devote to the delopment of younger players. Hoarding picks is not a bad idea but it is important to develop the players you draft. Since Davidson didn’t really flip anyone this year, I don’t like the odds of him doing so next year. Hawks don’t need any help in the bottom 6. It is arguable if the need help in the middle 6 or not. They definitely need a lot of help in the top 6. I don’t see Reilly has the best option to help in the top 6, but that’s just my opinion.
