The summer of alcohol related incidents I guess.
Reporting from Europe claims stl Kasperi Kapanen suspected of aggravated dui. Idk what that crime means in terms of severity or potential rehabilitation.
Was probably the summer Kapanen should have trained his ass off.
You’re prob lookin at a 10 million dollar Dui.
I wanna add: the nhls various insurance providers are only going to accept so much of this.
And the union will protect its members.
Teams will be forced to remove alcohol, or perhaps find some aspects of the ordeal uninsurable/very cost prohibitive, if a positive trend persists. Somebody’s account will be sending Kapanen millions of dollars for playing hockey while he’s chillin in rehab from offseason partying (potentially ofc).
Is he in breach of contract? Can he possibly be physically ready for the season if he is incarcerated, in rehab, or in recovery from an alcohol related incident? Can his contract be void?
I think galchenyuk set the standard.
If kapanen’s situation is similar to galchenyuks:
Stl should be able to void his contract - took Arizona about 48 hours iirc. All stl has to do is point at galchenyuk.
