Englund has actually been pretty good with the Avs. Chicago wins by getting the younger and better player, but Avs get experience and they are both pending UFAs anyway so it's no big deal

Not sure why it wasn't a 7th or future considerations for JJ. But him coming back to the Avs is no surprise whatsoever. I think they really like him as a person and room presence.

Sorry, I'm just a little worried for Sharks GM Mike Grier with respect to Timo Meier.

He's another GM who seems to bend over backwards when making a trade.

Why? Why do this trade. Someone explain how this makes sense? I think Colorado actually got weaker, while paying more money. Meanwhile, neither player it likely to stick around after free agency started.

If he's someone who is good in the lockerroom, then this trade actually makes sense. Otherwise, I have no idea why it happened.

I think it's a fair trade. Colorado gets experience and player they had befor ethis year, Hawks get the younger guy.

if you're going to trade for a fringe players around the edges of your lineup, may aswell get someone you know works within your system and organization that you dont need to start from scratch with. Just look at the rangers trading for motte again

When Englund was in Ottawa, he could barely stay on the fringes when we were at rock bottom.

Fair trade. JJ gets to go back to COL for a playoff run. The Hawks are forcing themselves to not rely on aging veterans. We need to give the kids NHL ice time. Issak Phillips, Alex Vlasic, Jacob Galvas, Filip Roos and then further down Korchinski, Allan, Del Mastro. Just on the left side alone.

I don't believe so at all, excluding the Burns trade his moves have been ones I like. He seems to have direction of the team, but his big test will be the Timo Meier return. Like everyone I am excited to see the return, hoping Grier gets a favorable return.

Have fun with him. Sure. We didn’t get him to be a game changer. He’s either in the minors or he’s a 6/7 until the end of the season and he’s a UFA.
