Trade by sportsnet and habs buying

Équipe: 2022-23 Canadiens de Montréal
Date de création initiale: 21 déc. 2022
Publié: 21 déc. 2022
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Spprtsnet wrote an article on top Destinations for Bo Horvat. Montreal was #1.
If that's so, I have alot of reason to believe he'll stay in Vancouver, but we will go with this trade proposal, let me know what you think.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/four-potential-trade-destinations-and-proposals-for-bo-horvat/

Little fun Idea I had. Cap is okay for deadline Cap space. It would theoretically work.
How good is this team? What are the holes?
Transactions
1.
MTL
  1. Horvat, Bo
Détails additionnels:
W/Extension.
With this move obviously means Habs would contend, and they also get a 2C for the future so no need for Bedard / Fantilli / Yager.
VAN
  1. Beck, Owen
  2. Savard, David
  3. Struble, Jayden [Liste de réserve]
  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (FLA)
  5. Choix de 3e ronde en 2024 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
Now Florida's 1st will be around 15 - 20. This would be the highest 1st round pick in 2023 that Vancouver would be able to get , think of the other teams interested, it'd be around 25 - 30 of they even still have their 1st in 23. So I understand that. Beck is a great prospect just drafted 33rd overall in 22. He can make an impact next year even, he has high end 3C projection, or a 2C. I'm personally very high on him, but it'd be an enticing piece to Vancouver. Struble is like a throw in with Value to Vancouver, since I doubt he'd sign in MTL, with all of our LD in the pipeline.
Good sandpaper defenseman with #4/#5 potential. Savard is there to make it steady for the Canucks. They are still looking to hover around a playoff position, therefore Savard can be a great anchor to a terrible defensive team. Overall, I think Vancouver ca get a better offer elsewhere, but, it depends if they value that 1st a lot, that they might take this offer over others. For the Candiens, if contending - that's an easy yes, but for the future, if we do this, we have to be committed to contending. Which takes us to our next trade:
2.
MTL
  1. Helleson, Drew
  2. Klingberg, John (3 500 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Should be noted that the Habs were very interested and were close to signing John Klingberg in the 2022 offseason.
ANA
  1. Harris, Jordan
  2. Mysak, Jan
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (COL)
Détails additionnels:
Habs look to sharpen the right side with Klingberg in the process they give up Mysak and a pick, it may not be enough, therefore Habs swap Harris for Helleson. Harris has more value because he's NHL ready currently and is playing very well. Helleson can help Habs right side . It works well.
3.
MTL
  1. Bobrovsky, Sergei
  2. Gudas, Radko
  3. Samoskevich, Mackie [Liste de réserve]
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (FLA)
  5. Choix de 2e ronde en 2025 (FLA)
Détails additionnels:
The Last hole in the Habs lineup is a #1 Goaltender.
Bobrovsky maybe can turn around his game in Montreal, and it's a good gamble considering the things they are receiving in return.

Habs cuts the cats some slack for the chiarot deal 😉
FLA
  1. Allen, Jake
  2. Dadonov, Evgeni
  3. Wideman, Chris
Détails additionnels:
Currently Florida would have an extra 4m in cap at the deadline than before this trade, and next year they have more than 6,5m extra, which would be helpful for them.
4.
TOR
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2023 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
Leafs very interested in Dvorak, and are willing to pay around this.
5.
MTL
  1. Poirier, Jérémie
  2. Wolf, Dustin
Détails additionnels:
No room in Calgary for Wolf, little swap w/ready nhlers who can't make their respective lineups.

Yeah, thats pure clickbait, Montreal makes about as much sense as the mississauga ice dogs as a landing spot for horvat.
Also lol at the leafs trade, no one is interested in dvorak

No room for Wolf in Calgary? Exact same situation here in this scenario. 3 years after this one for the starter, then Vladar has 1 more year than Montembeault. And the main cap casualty for Calgary this off-season is Vladar.

And Sutter won't play any young guys. He requires at least 2 of Ritchie Lewis Lucic and Rooney be in the lineup at all times.

Habs aren't contending and if we are trading all that for Horvat, why wouldn't we just wait until the offseason and trade/sign PLD who wants to be here and said he won't extend in Winnipeg and is likely only going to cost the Cats 1st + Barron.

ooof that Ducks trade is bad, no reason for the Ducks to include Helleson, like none at all

Ducks probably rather just a 23 1st compared to a prospect and a second

Is Harris even an upgrade on Helleson?

We've had a number of similar players to Harris recently that we let walk for nothing. I dont see Verbeek valuing the undersized Harris in the same tier as Helleson, who has the size and playstyle Verbeek wants

Harris being in the NHL a year earlier doesnt mean a thing when hes a year older. They are on the "same" trajectory with the size and playstyle advantage (to the ducks) goes to Helleson

Yeah, that's a hard no adding Helleson, like a deal breaking no. Anaheim is going to have a massive hole on the right side defense to address this offseason, we can't afford to ship off ANY RHD prospects unless we are getting a young, NHL caliber RHD in return, of which Harris is not.

I don't even think that package get's you Klingberg with retention. For starters you'd need to move the 2nd forward to 2023.

The reason you were close to signing Klingberg was because EDM wanted you to flip him to them at 50% retained salary.

laugh laugh First off Montreal isn't the #1 destination for Bo Horvat, Montreal isn't making the playoffs so he's not being traded there. There's no way in hell Bo Horvat would extend long term with Montreal you'd be looking at a 8 year deal worth close to $8,500,000 to $9,000,000 per to sign him. And a rebuilding team isn't going to give that much up.

Sportsnet listed 4 possible destinations for Horvat Detroit was also included as well, Along with Boston and the Islanders i believe. As of now Horvat is a pure rental as Allvin won't let Horvat's agent talk to other teams about a possible extension. Anyways zero chance of Horvat playing for Montreal for a long time. Sorry he didn't grown up a Habs fan but a Red Wings fan.
