Bobcat’s Post Game Notes, Game 29
Jackets lose, 4-1 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
-This is gonna be a rough stretch. TBL tonight, and then the Bruins two nights later. This is gonna suck…
-One pass from Victor Hedman to Vlad Namestnikov beats 4 jackets, and the Bolts score. Not the best of starts.
-Kent Johnson hooks Nicklaus Perbix. Off to the PK we go.
-HOLY SH*T, WHAT A SAVE BY DANIIL TARASOV. Nikita Kucherov, your room is ready at Scary Tarry’s House of Horrors.
-5 seconds before the penalty dies, Corey Perry throws Tim Berni to the ground. You can’t do that. Now we get a power play!
-With the clock winding down Kirill Marchenko almost scores in Brian Elliott’s face, but Moose shuts him down. That was the best shot we had all PP.
-Anthony Cirelli busts out the quick skates to beat Tim Berni (but not before Berni hooks him) and probably would have beaten Tarry with the forehand-backhand had he not bobbled the puck. I like that level of speed in a forward.
-Vladislav Gavrikov takes a beating and a half, blocking two hard shots, but they kill off Berni’s hooking penalty.
-The rest of the first was a snoozefest. This is pretty much where I expected us to be against such a good team.
-It was during the break that I realized just how MASSIVE Erik Gudbranson really is. Dave Maetzold had to hold the microphone over his head to interview him. That’s just funny.
-Guddy makes a great defensive play on Vlad Namestnikov, and then once he loses the puck, Guddy flattens him. Can someone remind me why people think he’s bad again?
-A golden cross-ice pass from Cole Sillinger sets up Kirill Marchenko PERFECTLY for his second career goal. I could watch that pass over and over again. Tie game.
-The Bolts have had their fair share of rushes, but we’ve shut them down. I like this play.
-Jake Christiansen hooks Nick Paul, but we kill that off. Good way to end the second period!
-Brayden Point gets a rush, but Tarry makes the save. Immediately after. Yegor gets a rush, but Moose shuts HIM down.
-Pointer shuffles in a pass right in Tarry’s face, to put the Lightning up by one once more.
-Brandon Hagel takes a harmless-looking shot that blows by Tarry. 3-1 now.
-An empty netter ends this one. I can’t really be mad about this. The Lightning are still in talks for a cup run, so this is pretty much exactly where I expected us to be. PSV, if you’re out there, I hope you’re proud of your boys.
